General Discussion / $210 Million Transacted on Bitreserve...
« on: August 26, 2015, 08:22:46 am »
https://bitreserve.org/en/blog/posts/bitreserve/210-million-transacted-on-bitreserve-and-counting

Clearly there is a market. What is BTS doing wrong, such that it is not capturing a piece of that?

Is it failure in premise? Failure in execution? Failure in promotion? Would be nice to find the failure bottleneck bug and squash it.

General Discussion / Exchange using all liquidity providers?
« on: July 29, 2015, 07:51:47 pm »
Someone posted a cool site that works kind of like shapeshift, but was using all liquidity providers to come up with actual available balance on the other side.

What was it? I can't seem to find it in the search.

My assumption is that BTS holders believe in the project, otherwise they would sell it / hedge it. At the moment it is impossible to obtain decent size of BitUSD, and I think that hurts the project's reputation. I'm curious what may be the reason for this, and why are stakeholders not willing to assume some of the risk in the name of the project's success?

Stakeholder Proposals / Accelerated Vesting of old BTS?
« on: June 16, 2015, 04:49:20 pm »
What about BTS vesting? Can we accelerate the vesting in the new BTS 2.0?

i.e. shouldn't we just remove the vesting for the old assets altogether once live on the new chain? This would also encourage abandoning the old chain.

When companies get bought / merged, they usually do accelerated vesting of all the outstanding options.

Technical Support / Dilution
« on: June 10, 2015, 11:46:34 pm »
So is BTS 2.0 introducing more dilution? Current supply for BTS is 2.5B, I remember seeing something about 1.5B for development that vests.

Not only that but claiming that this is roughly $8M at current price level. I find this calculation a bit irresponsible as it assumes you can just print money without causing the price to go down. But that's OK, if stakeholders can vote on that distribution, i.e. they vote that the work done will increase the value more than the dilution for each project.

So, am I correct in assuming that how that 1.5B is distributed to projects is to be voted by the stakeholders? And can we get an official statement from the current dev team as to what their current stake and skin in the game is?

General Discussion / LOL I figured out why BTS is not taking off...
« on: May 14, 2015, 04:41:09 am »
This is purely facetious post, please don't take it seriously. :)

http://pro.moneymappress.com/MMRBSSH39PPM3/PMMRR131/

According to those clowns (moneymappress) the USD is about to collapse. If the USD collapses so will the BitUSD. And therefore there is no interest in BitUSD.

Now, I think these guys are always targeting paranoid preppers, so please don't give them money and buy into their spam, but some of the charts in the video are indeed interesting.

General Discussion / BitUSD supply

What's with the drastic drops in BitUSD supply? http://www.bitsharesblocks.com/asset/info?asset=USD

First off, I know nothing about marketing, so please feel free to build on this idea, it is very rough around the edges.

I'm looking at this trip suggestion here: http://www.shareably.net/perfect-road-trip-map/

What if people started an infinite never ending loop following the path of that trip, to help people who want to go on that trip collaborate, and also start providing accommodations locally, heck may be even using BitUSD?

I.e. like a perpetually moving community hitting all states at once and growing. Raising awareness and building a community is probably one of the keys to success for crypto adoption. Hopefully folks who recently did the road trip could share some light on what works and what doesn't.

It could help build the sense of community, combine Uber, AirBnB, etc. into one. i.e. ability to collaborate and coexist entirely using a crypto, while also making it fun.

bitrespect.com - could become a reputation system brand
bitsecretary.com - may become tool for taxes/trade analysis

alligatorcoin.com
cheetahcoin.com
chimpanzeecoin.com
coinbirth.com - new DAC projects could be announced here,
coinminingguide.com - mining for bitshares could be listed here
coinmutate.com - decentralized exchange (compete with shapeshift)
coinsecretary.com - good for tax/accounting
coinstructure.com - could explain how DACs/coins work, their reward models, etc.
crocodilecoin.com
deercoin.com
frogcoin.com
giraffecoin.com - stands taller than the others
goldfishcoin.com - grants wishes
hamstercoin.com
hippopotamuscoin.com
horsecoin.com
spotlesscoin.com

Accepting offers via PM. Thank you for the interest. These are on namecheap so creat an account there if you don't already have one so I can push to you.

Stakeholder Proposals / Selling for BitUSD and/or BTS
« on: March 05, 2015, 03:12:11 am »
I want to acquire some BTS  and/or BitUS. I have some domain names I'm not currently working on. What's a good place to post those?

I'm not sure what the proper section for that is.

General Discussion / IPFS vs MaidSAFE vs StorJ?
« on: February 21, 2015, 10:20:52 pm »
Mods, please move this topic if it is not in the right subsection. I couldn't find "decentralized storage" so I'm posting here.

I just watched this video. Mind. Blown. Away.

DApp deployment, realtime video streaming, holy cow. These guys have put it together in a few months. Impressive!

General Discussion / GEMS could be an opportunity for BTS
« on: December 02, 2014, 05:16:11 pm »
https://koinify.com/#/project/GEMZ

They will supposedly handle all sorts of assets. They should REALLY try to use BitUSD/other assets to include in the messaging. (In the video they show all sorts of assets, not just BTC)

Not sure what the current team's structure is for BitShares now that it's all "Delegates" and what not. But someone should get on this ASAP.

Bytemaster, you should at least lay out how this can work with GEMS, what needs to be done, which sections of the code, what is the effort?

General Discussion / How can BTS do better than MMC?
« on: November 17, 2014, 07:46:34 am »
The 101 delegates setup reminds me of the 5 paid positions in MemoryCoin. We all know that failed miserably. I want to see if there are any lessons to be learned in that exercise.

Now, I know there is a good team in place for BTS, so perhaps the failure was entirely due to the team in MMC. FreeTrade seemed to aim for low hanging fruit incremental changes, while Bytemaster aims for innovation.

For example voting, even though was much harder in MMC, I think people were voting quite a lot more than currently in BTS. If anything I think voting could be further simplified. Would be nice if delegates could post links to their proposals and a place to track progress so they can be held accountable (or voted out if they don't perform)

Anyone care to comment with observation of MMC and any lessons that could be extracted from it and apply to BTS?

General Discussion / Next Big Thing for BTS
« on: November 15, 2014, 03:36:13 am »
Scripting. Let's make it happen!

Heck, is it possible to do what Counterparty just did and port over Ethereum?

Not sure it would work with Titan, but perhaps it could work by itself without Titan.

Bytemaster, care to provide analysis on challenges in this area?

Technical Support / Tool to check balance?
« on: November 15, 2014, 01:02:21 am »
Any tools to check the unclaimed balances out there? I don't want to claim any of the balances yet, but would like to know what they amount to.

Also, will those that don't claim their balance still receive % of future DACs?
