Daniel, what does this require?  If it's about bearing trust, I'm happy to step up.  If it's about being able to monitor technically and maintain upkeep I am probably not a good candidate.

Happy to participate if it makes sense.

Brainstorm the specific situations and outcomes you want to occur or exist, then create a contest where the winner is whoever makes that desired outcome a reality.

If you try to tell people how they should do things you don't know how to do yourself, you're just setting up failure further down the line.  Create incentives that allow those who do know to realize it's in their best interest to do that thing.  no deadlines so no worries about missing them.  Whomever can do it is incentivized to do it as quickly as possible, so the only challenge is advertising the contests.  In theory, people should be excited to solve the problem and compete for the prize.

Is this going well?  I can't tell from the posts lol.

Brian,
Other parts of the Angelshares funded ecosystem have daily updates (Bitshares and Keyhotee), maybe doing the same detailing your efforts would help keep the community informed of your value to the project and also be a great reason to document this important time in DAC history :)

What did you spend your time doing today?  What value are you providing to AGS investors?

I think it's a mistake to attack criticism, if you're working hard there can be no complaints, help your critics see the truth.

BitShares PTS / Re: 36 hours passed, stiil not confirmed
« on: May 29, 2014, 01:26:45 pm »
The 36/40 hour confirmations are bizzare because the most time between blocks w/ transactions has been less than a day. Maybe keep your wallets online when you send? I think the clieny rebroadcasts if it sees a block without a tx too

Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

I've had my client open on a computer since I sent a PTS TX about four days ago, it still doesn't have a single confirmation.

Keyhotee / Re: Keyhotee Status Update

All the eggs are currently in the Bitshares basket, work on Keyhotee has been halted until that product ships.

General Discussion / Re: MaidSafe IPO on Mastercoin

Actually .. those 500 only commited the selfs to build services on top of maidsafe .. not neccesarily support the core development ... just saying

"only"!?... that's everything BitShares should want too. Having people make useful the network gives it all it's value. Having a perfect product that noone uses is not a good outcome. I wonder that those successes will follow from a balanced approach to getting devs and community engaged.

Ma'am, if you'll just move along....

The problem is .dac or .coin are really specific, so while they are better in each specific utility they are not better in all cases.  because Nikolai specified he wants a single TLD, I think we need to pick something that can be applied to any circumstance like .p2p which defines the tranmission method rather than being suggestive of the content contained therin.

Open to other suggestions but I think they need to be non-specific so .coin and .dac are out.

I'm in favor of .p2p

LottoShares / Re: LottoShares DAC - Launch Suspended
« on: May 24, 2014, 04:38:30 pm »
I've been made aware of a similar project called ChanceCoin (thanks ABL). I'm not sure how I missed it, but it is a very similar project. In some ways, it is better than what I'm working on and yet seems to be failing to attract a high valuation in the marketplace.

For these reasons, I'm suspending the planned launch while I fully review this project and any lessons that can be learned.

FreeTrade, do you gamble at Casinos and do you anticipate being a user of your services?   Put another way, are you scratching your own itch or is a casino coin one on a list of interesting and potentially profitable coins to prototype?

I feel like the "interested in Cryptocurrency" and "big gambler" isn't neccesarily a huge demographic overlap which is why it's interesting to hear people who develop these solutions (like Bytemasters Mining-as-playing-the-lottery proposal of a few months ago) don't actually want to use the product, they just see the percieved market void.

Leads to question if we really need a leadership for bitshares .. who is strat. leader of nxt?

The Bitshares software ecosystem, once launched, does not need a CEO, nor is Daniel it's CEO.

Daniel is the CEO of Invictus Innovations, which is a virginia based real life corporate entity that has investors and is the trustee of funds invested via angelshares.  There will always be a CEO of Invictus, but it wasn't always and doesn't always need to be Daniel whose skills seem better suited for other roles.

Marketing and strategic leadership are fundamentally different.  Bitshares lacks leadership.  Note that is different from decision-making, which can be done by just making an arbitrary decision.

A CEO is a leader, Daniel is a developer and the only reason he is the person with all the pieces in his head is because he's making it up as he goes and the plan keeps changing.  Have I mis-stated the situation?

LottoShares / Comparison to ChanceCoin

How similar is this to CHA?  http://chancecoin.com/  They have a 1% rake and launched recently.

I think you'll find critique is not welcome from the community here, and providing any will make you the enemy.

So enjoy that.

This is why I don't understand you Adam.  You know I welcome critique and debate and yet you post things like this.

Bytemaster != the community. I know you do, Dan. But your father doesn't.

Indeed, I was talking about the community that defends you, not you.

Thanks for clarifying.   I think that the community as a whole is open minded, though at times we all lose site of the fact that we are all real people just trying to do our best with what we know.

My critique is this: You guys know what you want to do and have committed to this course, so critique whether welcome or not is ineffectual because you've got the resources to act on your vision and failing to run into an immovable object you're going to do what you've decided on.

Are there plans to replace you as CEO at any point?  I feel like you really want to be the CTO.
