General Discussion / Autobriding == Automatic bond market
« on: September 25, 2016, 06:29:10 pm »
One of the requested features is the bond market, which means that not only can you short BitAssets against the collateral (BTS), but you could also short BitGold against BitUSD, which is more intuitive than shorting gold against some volatile crypto token.

Idea: if we had liquidity on the cross markets via autobridging, then you could short BitGold into existence and immediately sell it for BitUSD. You would then still be short on Gold , but long on USD instead of long on BTS.

If autobridging were implemented you would get the "bond market" for free. Good idea?

Im unable to load bitshares.openledger.info, it just shows the 3 dots loading animation. Anyone else seeing this?

Sigh...

Edit: Hmm never mind there was something wrong with my browser and I went on another pc. Mods feel free to delete.

Why is Bitshares rising in price?

Because BitShares is awesome, and CCEDK is announcing on July 1st their relaunched frontend based off BitShares (I think).

Plus check out the blockchain's increasing transaction rates (turn on limit & cancel orders):
cryptofresh.com/charts

We are making record daily transaction counts and starting to achieve real traction.

Sucks to be you for doubting BitShares.

What is the differwnce between ccdk n openledger?

CCEDK is the company that hosts OpenLedger, but until now they have been maintaining two different brands.

Lets speculate on this:

https://www.ccedk.com/

Im guessing their new improved frontend is the BTS webwallet, so they are finally merging the Openledger and CCEDK brands together, which is great.

After Bitcoin's halving, do we think it will continue a sustuinable uptrend because of the reduced sell pressure, or will it pop because of the hype ending?

General Discussion / Transaction counts of other chains
« on: June 04, 2016, 10:40:07 am »
https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/transactions-btc-eth-ltc.html

Litecoin is flat because its just a coin, whilst Ethereum is already at 40-60k transactions per day, whilst we can barely make 5K:
http://cryptofresh.com/charts (turn on limit order create & cancel)

Q: What smart contract is Ethereum actually being used for to generate such a high transaction count per day?

He has no longer any significant stake in BTS.
Is this proven or just rumored?

And he's not even willing to promote OpenLedger as a trading platform for STEEM.
Yeah this is odd.

2. Post Nov 5th.

What is supposed to happen on this date?

Vesting balances from the merger finish, which should have the same effect as a bitcoin halving.

I agree that a rebrand could be helpful, and calling it simply DEX is a great way to hammer home what it is. BitShares was quite confusing.

How about a community poll on rebranding to DEX? Its such a great name Im surprised there isnt a crypto out there already using it.

dex.openledger.info is so much better than bitshares.openledger.info

Technical Support / Re: Smartcoin/UIA interest?

And we seem to have given up on the better way to get interest, which was p2p lending/bond market.
Given up? Not me. Still in talks with people that can help fund or even develop it. In fact, there are than one party interested in doing this ..
but as you know ... developing for graphene isnt as easy as putting together javascript snippets

Glad to hear it, but BM hasnt talked about this for ages and hes the only one capable of developing it.

Define recent?

I think they act like their product BTS is their own personal ATM, and when it runs dry they spin off a new token such as Steem/Brownie points.

Im still holding as I still think that Openledger can grow a userbase if the UI improves.

BM can't easily and anonymously dump his premined Steem on OpenLedger without it becoming a big deal. Much better for him to get buyers going to Bittrex.

Ouch...

Anyone else remember that hangout when BM said "No, Im not worried about Ethereum"  :P
