General Discussion / Re: BitShares 0.9.0 Feedback
« on: April 25, 2015, 07:42:18 pm »
the client doesn't work when one doesn't have more than 4 GB RAM memory available?

0.9.0 requires less memory and in my case takes 1-1.5 GB RAM.

0.9.0 is only taking 750MB on my machine.  Huge improvement!

DAC PLAY / Re: Why does no exchanges list PLAY?
« on: April 25, 2015, 03:57:31 am »
We can redeem PLAY??
I haven't seen any shares.  This is probably a problem .. if I'm a forum member and don't know about PLAY then I doubt there's enough volume to be added to an external exchange

summer?Means nothing will happen on bitshares this 3-5months.
sell signal.

It's not a sell signal. HODL signal

The difference between an investor and a trader.  Traders chase shiny object while investors sit on gold.

At this point I WOULD like to sell note on the Bitshares blockchain.
What's stopping you?  NOTES are in the internal market.

We have already identified this problem and also the solution:

1) No interest on BitUSD

I would advise BM to tread carefully in making statements that could be construed as altering long standing functionality, such as removal of interest on BitUSD, which eliminates (or at least fundamentally changes) it as a replacement for fiat saving accounts.

BitBonds will offer a yield instead.  The change is more assets and more options not less.

General Discussion / Re: New DEX exchange ANN

Bitshares should always post a pre-announcement to all new added features of the wallet so it will create a buzz like this post doing buzz with NUbits now.

What buzz?  They haven't even done anything.  Don't get me wrong.. I wish them luck but the 'buzz' is non-existent.. besides, they're a year behind BitShares building a DEX.. by the time they have a product BitShares will already be well established.

General Discussion / Re: What is a DAC to you?
« on: April 21, 2015, 02:23:50 pm »
A DAC for me is a set of rules, governed by consensus, that sits upon a network and enables participants to communicate freely and securely with digital information.

DAN - Decentralized Autonomous Network.

What I hope will emerge is a monumentally positive change in how the sum of human interaction manifests on this planet.

This.  To me a DAC is a DAN with a specific purpose and it's that function that defines the C.  A DAN can have a business model whereby its goal is to reduce costs and generate revenue making it a DACompany.. or a DAN can have a model where its sole function is to reach proper consensus (like VOTE) and so long as its revenue covers costs it can survive autonomously making it a DACommunity (or DACountry).  The intent of the DAN defines the DAC.

TO TOAST!
(I still think BitSharesTOAST was the best idea that never happened)  :P

Do not get me wrong... I love Moonstone (as well as the Moon and The Stones), but just trying to decide on most appropriate trading strategy for my moonfund tokens. And for that I need clarity on the rules.

This so hard.  I haven't donated yet because it's unclear to me how this whole thing is going to be handled.

General Discussion / Re: Privatizing BitAssets

I agree that voting for feed producers that get paid each time they publish a feed with a minimal interval between feed publishings would incentivize things nicely and keep them separate from delegate responsibilities.

This is a great idea.

Now you are catching on... the way we bootstrap is to give established players a profit incentive to bring us customers ;)

Spread your favourite music with the NEXT blockchain. Set the alias <n>bestMusic to your favourite's website and score with the amount of BestMusic asset you owns. <n> is your NEXT account's ID (numerical, not RS). For more information see the myFavourite alias.

meh. no competition there.
