General Discussion / Re: Reworking the wallet trading interface

Looks great, but that buy & sell wall feels squashed (and too tall) being beside the buy & sell orderbook lists. Bter put the wall graphic underneath the lists and it feels more natural: https://bter.com/trade/bts_btc

I agree.  I much prefer the layout from the dark theme.

so, if I am trying to short some bitCNY into existence, why is nobody buying them?

Because the price of BTS is too low , people don't want to sell BTS for BitCNY at this point .
They want BitCNY , they also don't want to trade their BTS for it .

So you need to wait for someone who is willing to dump their BTS for BitCNY at this point , but not likely because the price is really low , everybody I know refuse to do so .

If they want BitCNY but don't want to pay BTS for it...why not buy more cheap BTS and immediately convert it? I don't see the problem.

Gotta pay something to get BitCNY lol.

less than 2000 USD worth of BitCNY -- BTS order with decent price . Because of the shortage of BitCNY , so it's natural that no body is willing to sell BitCNY to buy BTS either , got it ? :'(

They could always short into existence.  MetaExchange says they have little demand at the moment.

We have extremely low demand for bitCNY on metaexchange - not sure if that is due to the chinese community not knowing about us, or what...

Awesome post and couldn't agree more  +5%.

I'm completely hooked using the internal exchange now, yes it's a little clunky but the fact that I can execute trades and have them confirmed in 10seconds is amazing. Also just look at some of the work being done by Cass on the UI! http://i.imgur.com/eC0UVnx.png

if cass was a women, I would marry him ;-)

Can I download this theme now?

Not it's just a mock-up for a future 'dark theme' option.

Thanks for sharing your experiences!  I never use BTC or similar addresses anymore if I don't need to... using actual names like in TITAN is so much better in every way.

I like the layout but I think I'd prefer if the colors or background were the same as found in the Bitshares brand from the website and this login:  https://bitshares.org/labs/ui/ui-splash-revamp-with-animate.mp4

IMO it'd make it look and feel like a cohesive ecosystem.

That dark theme looks great!

Suggestion: In the menu bar at the top how about a "Deposit" tab that shows a page where people can deposit BTC into BitBTC via Metaexchange for example. Is that in the works?

My understanding is that it will not be implemented in the official client; however, Moonstone will offer direct access to external exchanges using Shapeshift and Metaechange.

BTS is a decentralized trade system, but is the most centralized digital coin.
the price is totally controlled by BTC38, this is the biggest problem.
to resolved this, we need more fiat gateway, and more trade site.
Getting BTS on other exchanges would also help with this but it's my understanding that they're waiting for 1.0 so they don't have to do continuous updates.. is that true?

Actually, I left out one important Fun Fact:  In 5 months the share supply has increased from 2,500,000,000 to 2,505,960,283 for a net increase of 5,960,283 or 0.24%.    So, those who complain about dilution are asserting that a fraction of a percent worth of dilution is responsible for several hundred percent decline in price.

Now, it may be true that complaining about dilution is responsible for such a drop, but the dilution itself has been negligible.

:)

Very good point!  This fact needs to spread like wild fire in the Chinese community since many had fears.

Stability is much more important than UI. I suggest you guys not spend too much time on UI.
People do not use it is because of its UI, but basically because they lack trust in the software, and feel trouble to use it (i mean such as resigner, deposit, withdraw )
The stability has nothing to do with the UI.  Two completely different things that are being implemented in parallel.
I don't share your concern with stability at all as I have used it everyday since the first release with little problems.  Back up your wallet and there's nothing to fear.

What would be the intention of organizing hangouts with other communities?  Is it a means to collaborate other communities with Bitshares? Or would the hangouts be for their community discussion only?

I have gotten more done for the future of BTS in the past month than in the 3 months prior and everyone on the core team knows it.
We love and appreciate you, Dan!  Keep up the awesome work  8)

I wonder whats the point of inflation anymore?  I mean its had a negative effect on the community and will continue as long as it exists.  It has major problems where the "employees" have no clue what they are getting paid from day to day etc.

I bet that bitsharesX could have been a true self funding dac based on fees - meaning it hired and paid people set amounts based on its income (fees)

I agree.  Perhaps we should re-evaluate the inflation and weigh the pros and cons as it seems to have had a negative impact both short and long term.
