General Discussion / Re: BitNation - Governance 2.0
« on: September 30, 2014, 01:57:33 pm »
Oh dear.....well i agree with you BitNation does not sound right at all and also money power certainly comes first.  I guess we are already building the components that will form the Bitshares Earth....or Bearth  ;D

Governance utilities are where I have always hoped blockchain tech would take us!  Consensus-regulated governance, ie about the truest representation of democracy you could have.....with room for innovation!

You are probably right, they are unlikely to switch......which leave one enormous hole for Bitshares and DPOS to fill.  I know several of these governance type utilities are worked on already....but imagine the impact of unifying them!

General Discussion / BitNation - Governance 2.0

Has anyone heard of this project?  http://www.bitnation.co/

I've asked them to consider using the Bitshares Toolkit.....if not, we should be building a competing governance utility I think

Well done Cob, absolutely excellent summary. I'm so excited about bitshares music and peertracks......the potential is mind-blowing.  Music will be free to evolve, who knows where it will lead!?   +5%

Your model could work for digital art that could then be 3d printed....

LottoShares / Neither Dice nor Lottery are producing results
« on: September 14, 2014, 08:43:42 pm »
Hey Freetrade, do you know why the games have stopped producing results?  I have a couple of games that appear to be in limbo.  Dice Game: Roll Odd Number | Block:70056  | . . .  and Played: 2 13 24 25 31 35 | Block:70207  | . . .

I'm running 1.0.7, reinstalled and rescanned....I think some others have had the same issue to.  All the best.

General Discussion / Re: Follow My Vote Article
« on: September 11, 2014, 04:09:15 pm »
Don't lose heart arhag, they're confused and scared which makes rational analysis difficult.  They'll come around or their children will.

Hopefully, blockchain technology will become ubiquitous and younger generations will be much more familiar with it.  The entrenched oligopoly will be brought down by the freedom of value exchange, not by political voting itself.  Voting with capital is the most potent of votes after all.

Traditional political voting, where one vote cast somehow entitles a group of apparent maniacs (who probably campaigned on education) to sell our public assets, nationalize private banking debt and start wars, will be super-seeded.  Blockchain voting could give every individual hundreds or thousands of votes....should they choose to exercise them.  These votes will be cast to allocate funds to expert administrators who will campaign on their expertise and the benefits they bring to specific social tasks.  A lot like Bytemaster's DPOS Delegate system.  A person who wants to control our national education budget will have to compete on reputation, experience etc with anyone else who wants that job.  If they win the vote and the budget the education budget, they do education and that's it, they don't get to start making decisions on domestic security or defense etc.

BitsharesX, a more elegant 'technology' for a more civilized age.....

I think 'weapon' would also fit quite nicely.

General Discussion / Re: Wallet Not Synching
« on: August 26, 2014, 10:56:07 pm »
I've been going around in circles all day....I cannot fully sync the blockchain as the client keeps crashing.  I get the following error;

RPC Server Error: In method 'blockchain_list_assets': Assert Exception (10)

I'm on win 64 bit and have tried reinstalling many times and am using latest version 0.4.8-b.exe.

I have been unable to register a single account.....attempting to register benjojo.  I'm really concerned that if i was to claim any ags funds that they would very quickly become compromised with all this mucking about,  I'm happy to try things for myself but am not technical so there are considerable risks of a mistake.  I appreciate there is a lot going on at the moment and several forum members are giving significantly of their time and expertise to help, however, I worry about how many people might be having the same frustrating experience I am.

Naturally things are changing very rapidly and I have great faith that these teething problems will be resolved in short order.  Should I just wait for a few days before attempting to run the client again?
