General Discussion / Re: NXT forks BitShares 2.O mojo! goes for scalability

There really is no need to fling dirt at each other. So many of us have felt like we understand what's going on with this technology and the best way to build it out, to survive and grow these networks and to bring their utility to a broader market. If we're honest, we all need to eat some humble pie and realise no-one has been right all the time, no-one has no skin in the game. That is why the only thing that makes sense is to take a long term view of success or failure and, assuming you believe in the technology as a whole, keep working at it. Innovation is critical. Finding the means of funding development and support is critical and by hook or by crook, we'll find a way. Its that or someone in the future will take what has been built and start again.  The question is, can everyone currently in this community pull together enough to enable BitShares to survive? I believe we can. That is in no small part to the abilities and dedication of the team around Bytemaster. It's not the price or market cap that dictates the success or failure of BitShares, it is the integrity of the vision and the dedication of the community to working through the difficulties to get there. if we do, everybody wins. Everybody.

Sounds really good.  Good luck tonyk. I'm a huge fan of BitShares but I like competition and innovation.

I like atomika, units could be atoms or atomii

BitShares should be able to compete with anything.....forking is a reality when people can't agree and to enable innovation. Maybe there will be short term resourcing availability implications but ultimately if a technology/network has enough utility, a way will be found to progress. The chains that are more successful in this regard are more likely to gain network share.

If tonyk's network succeeds, there is nothing to prevent BitShares from implementing something similar. His success will drive consensus within BitShares or encourage everyone to move to dshares.

i feel an ice age coming on and Ronny, you are definately one of the growing number of icebergs. The amount of work and connecting you do beneath the constant flow of positive news and opportunity is awesome.

General Discussion / Re: OPENBAZAAR

Man, this thing needs to be urgently implemented on top of bitshares blockchain. Such a perfect use case! Substitute a laptop in the example from their blog for USD, and you get p2p on/off ramps.

+5%  I added this to the Beyond Bitcoin thread for tomorrow.
Nice!  Perfect time to open a bazaar on openledger!  ;D

If we were baking a cake, you would be tasting it in the mixing bowl. Either help to bake, wait patiently or try a different recipe.

please guys be cool and don't dump until we claim at least again the 4th place above litecoin..Let's make the difference for once..And please start providing some liquidity in the dex by not demanding absurb premiums for the bitassets..

If we all work together we can make this happen. We need some strong hands now.. :)

You'll have to pry my BitShares from my cold dead fingers with a crowbar before I give mine up.... ;D

General Discussion / Re: KKachi is on OPEN.ETH market!
« on: February 10, 2016, 09:11:07 pm »
Finally, Kkachi got some OPEN.ETH and began to make OPEN.ETH:OPEN.BTC market.
He's also making BTS:OPEN.BTC market too, so you can convert your BTS into OPEN.ETH without any difficulties.

Please check it out  8)

markets like OPEN.ETH:OPEN.BTC are simple ...  was mtgox offers years ago. They depend on trust to some third-party. Bots should be on trades like bitBTC:bitCNY. There is only way to make a truly decentralize trustless exchange. What you are doing is making bitshares even more confusing for newbies.
The UIA offerings on the DEX are not the same as mtgox markets. At the very least, there's a fundamental difference in a system where the "supply" of the UIA is a publicly available number that can't be obscured. Another important difference is that "anyone" can create a UIA and markets are automatically available between that UIA and all other assets in the system. I understand your desire for a trustless asset, but please don't let that blind you to the vast differences between what we have  in BitShares and a traditional centralized exchange.
well said and quite right....

End result is the same.. 3rd party goes, YOUR money goes.

I don't think it's an improvement in this case. But good initiative @clayop, I'll stay tuned for when the bot trades smartcoins.
true, so anything that increases  your ability to assess or limit risk is positive. Don't you think?

Bitcoinsatan is being ironic and he's made perfectly clear that he supports the genius of BM's innovation! Hey we can still have a bit of fun and enjoy a truely magical moment for BitShares and blockchain tech, can't we?!  ;D
