Fantastic, must have been really difficult to fit such tricky language and concepts in.  Superbly done....

If we picked any good reason
to be our favorite reason
the suspicious would still reason
there was some other reason.

...and we would be right back to this same place again.

Very true Stan, but you have failed to provide ANY reason whatsoever, leaving the community to guess your motives and purpose. clear communication at least allows your supporters to have a firm platform of facts to dispense with any contrary claims. This is what I mean by you guys not learning your lesson.

You should study the trivium and Aristotelian logic to understand this and know when you're stepping into the world of sophism.

That's not true, BM has already stated that the attempt to regrow PTS had merit.  This was not possible with a single stakeholder of that size using DPOS.  This is reason enough.

Sorry Ben, but nothing I said was untrue. I am not saying I'm against the decision at all. Your "assuming" what the reasons are. I'm only asking for clear communication rather than ambiguity and community guesswork. That's no way to lead. It just isn't good for the reasons I've stated that STILL REMAIN unchallenged or even addressed.

I tell you what, I'll be hanging out on mumble if anyone cares to discuss this rationally.

Ok.  I've been able to reach my own conclusions, right or wrong, based on what has been posted in the forum about this subject.  That is not the case for everyone and understandably so....and  communications can always be improved.

I just find myself feeling a little frustrated at the speed with which suspicion and anger seems to appear.  They have earned our trust over and over.  I accept you are trying to highlight the communication part.

I'm listening to your 'The Truth About World War I: The Hidden History' link.........very interesting

Isn't it MUCH easier to have onrams for bitUSD?
Isn't there alot more demand for buying bitUSD than buying bitGold?

BTW, the recent merger change the names to bitGOLD and bitSILVER .. just a  FYI

Ahh thanks.

Yes much easier onramps for USD, EUR etc, but once in BitUSD, it's a decentralized market away from Bitshares, then BitGold.  There is certainly a lot more demand for USD and therefore BitUSD at the moment.  I guess i'm talking about savings and the potential for a rapid change in perception which could lead to BitGold & BitSilver's demand climbing rapidly whilst the opposite occurs in BitUSD.

What do you think would happen to the BitGold peg if Gold suddenly tripled in value (USD)?

Mind blowing.

Given the possibility that all currencies are likely to become even more volatile relative to each other & that FIAT is a race to the bottom, shouldn't BitGLD, BitSLV and other commodity pegged assets receive more of our marketing attention than the BitAssets pegged to paper?  Aren't paper currency values certain to fall off a cliff and soon?

Early adopters of BitShares and early users of BitGLD etc could benefit from a upward revaluation that seems inevitable.....

I'd be very interested to know your thoughts....

BitShares PTS / Re: Keeping track of projects that make use of your PTS
« on: November 11, 2014, 05:14:13 pm »
QUESTION: If PTS price plummeted as for all intents and purposes it is useless right now, why hasn't the BTSX price plummeted equally? If there was a merger then wouldn't both be useless and worthless now and only BTS(when it's released, based on your holdings of both PTS and BTSX, be useful and valuable

I don't think PTS is useless right now and it certainly isn't valueless.  The market has a value for it, despite being less than it was for obvious reasons.... The value of BTSX or BTS is highly unlikely to be influenced any further by PTS in my opinion.  The question now is, can all those holders of PTS that are participating in the PTS network or third party developers interested in the bitshares toolkit, rebuild value into that network?  The market will respond to those possibilities and the value of PTS will adjust accordingly.

I don't remember the exact quote, but I think it went something like this:

Quote
"I believe that this planet should commit itself to achieving the goal,
before this decade is out, of landing an unmanned company on the moon"

- John F. Kennedy

Ha ha marvelous!  I wonder what it will be like up there?!

Either way, I don't see a lot happening in terms of alternative DACs. That part of the forum hasn't seen a decent new idea in months. IMHO, no reason to own PTS unless/until there are any signs of intelligent life beyond these initial DACs.

As a counter point MUSIC and PLAY came out of nowhere compared to what we knew on Feb 28th.

Good point.  At this stage, most people are understandably concerned with the big killer feature sets and rapid network building.  But the degree of certainty that has been expressed with regard to the limits of innovation and the shape of things to come in this developing economy is surprising.  It is perfectly possible for the Bitshares toolkit to be used to build a blockchain that is useful to a specialized community, has great value, but is not useful to the super DAC.  It is also possible that holders of Protoshares may be a better community to support the development of such projects.

DPOS protoshares or any other niche experiment is absolutely no threat to the potential of BitShares given that Bitshares developers will be able to add anything useful to it's code at any time.

Everyone has been as fairly treated as possible.  Everyone can buy or sell Protoshares at their leisure.  None of our predictions have been or ever will be perfect.

We need to stop assuming we know the future and stop being afraid of letting the free market decide if there is a place for any particular strategy.

Why Bank, When You Can BitShare?

We need a slogan that doesn't call us a bank, but puts us in the same class.

Thoughts?

The original and the best. Encapsulates things exactly IMHO. Also pulls on the heart strings of those feeling less and less satisfied with traditional banks. Love it!  :) +5%

Love this too  +5%

BitShares, banking you can believe in

You can take that to the BitShares

BitShares, be the network

BitShares is dreams (BFG)

You can run, but you can't hide from BitShares

BitShares surrounds us. It penetrates us. It binds the Galaxy together.

No public tip of the hat and the cold shoulder.....bizzare.

People still don't get how competition in this market works.

Heh?

no acknowledgement for using Bitshares tech and underappreciation for all the people who would have been incentivized to make their project a success...
