Nice!

Rooooooll the dice! :D

Exactly how much cpu time are we donating to support the next version?
I've seen the message come up more than three times in the past few hours.

In the edited OP he states that it mines for 30 seconds to start and 30 seconds every hour.

And that's about 0.83% of your CPU time!

Well, its good to have it stated upfront nice and clear, and not hidden.
So, its just the users choice after all!

.

NICE CPU MINER!!!

Any data from AMD A8 / A10 users out there?!?!

yvg1900, thank you!

Hey all, I'm happy to announce the release of the GPU miner for MMCPool.com!
Download now: http://dl.mmcpool.com/gpu/mmcpool-gpu-miner-windows.zip (Windows, BETA!)

Please, share your feedback.

Thats great!
Any comparisons against 1gh GPU miner?

Nice!

Its good to the word spreading for this great coin!!!

MMC2 = the next big thing!

Mining MMC become more and more Unprofitable!

Now, I have mined MMC use GPU for one week. I find that I can get 23~24 MMC (above 0.0082BTC )one day using one 280x ( about 20hpm).

Mining dogecoin, I can get 23000~25000 doge (above 0.009~0.0095BTC) one day using one 280x (about 750K~780K).

I post these data only based on my lastest GPU mining result without using any predict calculator in Web.

The price of MMC sharp decline recently , so I consider  move some GPUs  to dogecoin pools.

And what about when dogecoin bursts like a bubble???
Price flactuations is not an indication.
Are you converting to BTC every day?

Anyway, I don't think this is the right thread for crypto-speculation, don't you think!!!

I hooked up a power meter to my PC while it was mining. Horrible spikes +/- 250Watts
The time in between work is completely devastating and causes power spikes. I can smell my PCIE power cable burning with the spikes in Ampage. (Now replaced, but I had a one PCIe to PCIe 6 pin and 8 pin.)
Please run an idle process that consumes electricity on the GPU to prevent the surges.

250W spikes???
Are you sure? Thats quite a lot of power.
What is your GPU load? Is it steady?

I don't see any problems with my Vapor 280X

would be cool though if you could set vents to 70% because others may have the problem also and get overheated cards maybe not even noticing

Well, thats OUR responsibility.
If reorder could incorporate some auto-fan fanctionality in the miner, it'll be great,
but he does not have to do it (esp. since there are other tools to do the job), its something extra.

The miner core (i.e. its optimized ability to solve the crypto algo) is the priority here.
After that we can worry about extra options...

I run the gpu miner along with cgminer and set all GPU config from there.

Can you actualy do that? How?
Can you just run cgminer for the temp and autofan option and not actualy mine anything???

I'm down to beta test a GPU miner for HD 6970 2GB.

Currently the miner produces only rejected shares with a 5xxx / 6xxx card.
If reorder will be kind enough to develop a fix for the current miner it will be great!
A lot of us will not only beta test it but actively use it!!!  :D

(meanwile I am waiting for my 7970s to arrive...)

Guys,

I have now a build of GPU miner that works with Nvidia. Its performance is rather disappointing, though: AWS g2.2xlarge (GRID K520) yields just 3.58hpm. It cannot be significantly improved upon. Consumer-grade cards would yield a similar or worse performace. Given that, please give your opinion on whether you would be using such a miner.

Would also definitely try - not sure if it works though. I have a new Macbook Pro

Unless you are just talking about testing, do your laptop a favor and stay away from mining.
GPU mining is very stressful and there is not enough cooling in a macbook.
There are cases of damaged laptops from mining...
And after all performance is not that great (your NVIDIA only consumes a max of 60W)

Is it possible to make a version for mac?

Well, thats a niche market...  ;D
What would be the demand for that?

The only way thats happening is if
a) it's really really fast and simple (I doubt that)
b) the developer (optimizer I should say) I a Mac fan himself

I'm sure demand will increase over time!

Only time will tell... 8)

Any results on an AMD A8 series CPU?

I have it in plans, but definitely after Nvidia (or Nvidia-compatible) build. Do not expect from VLIW cards any decent performance with MemoryCoin though, something on par with CPU perhaps, or even worse.

Really?
I thought that, for the price, it would be better than CPU.
Something around 4-5 HPM maybe...

Anyway you are doing a great job man!!!

Oh, do you think a 7870 Tahiti LE (same core as the 79xx series) will work with the miner?
Has anyone tried this? What HPM would you expect from it?

Again... thank you!

Bill
Just a miner
Price is not everything, VLIW cards have inferior memory controllers, and memory is crucial for MemoryCoin. 7870 Tahiti is fine, but I think noone has reported its hpm yet. If you are buying a new one, 280X is definitely the best bang for your buck, and not only for MMC.

Of course you're right.
But I know a lot of people that have built massive GPU mining farms with 5xxx and 6xxx cards,
just because they offer better kh per dollar than newer cards (on SCRYPT of course)...

So an updated GPU miner for VLIW GPUs will be great for those farms to turn to Memory Coin!

Also, you are giving priority to NVIDIA cards? Why, do you expect good performance from NVIDIA GPUs on memorycoin mining???

Keep up the good work man!
