General Discussion / Re: Is there a way to see all open orders?

Ok, great thanks.
Now I just have to figure out what assetid number, corresponds with what asset and on which market.

Code: [Select]
>>> blockchain_get_asset 22
{
  "id": 22,
  "symbol": "USD",
  "name": "United States Dollar",
  "description": "1 United States dollar",
  "public_data": "",
  "issuer_account_id": -2,
  "precision": 10000,
  "registration_date": "2014-07-19T03:18:40",
  "last_update": "2014-07-19T03:18:40",
  "current_share_supply": 8134842084,
  "maximum_share_supply": 1000000000000000,
  "collected_fees": 83485197,
  "flags": 0,
  "issuer_permissions": 4294967295,
  "transaction_fee": 0,
  "authority": {
    "required": 0,
    "owners": []
  },
  "last_proposal_id": 0
}
Thanks, that makes it a lot easier.

Still I think this should be a GUI feature for 1.0, for everybody not used to command lines.

It's great that all bitasset markets are open now.
But is there a way, to show all open orders in the GUI?

If not, would it be hard to implement such a feature?

I think people are underestimating how big it is, that all markets are opened now.

Example:

You can short bitusd against yourself at 0% interest now.
If you believe gold will keep on rallying, you can use your BitUSD to buy Bitgold.
After a profit you sell your Bitgold for BitUSD again, and close your short.

Why not use BitUSD to buy BTS again?
Sure you can use your BitUSD profits to buy back BTS again. This is just an example.

It now reminds me of trading on ripple a bit over a year ago.
Also at that same time user issued assets where introduced and traded.

Not long after ripple went from 0.01USd to 0.1USD.

The GUI incorrectly shows all shorts as if they were at the price feed. There is not actually any overlap.

For me this problem got fixed with 5.0 (windows)

500 more blocks till hardfork

Pah! I'm impatient :)
Seems it's still not working. Just imported my vesting balances without a problem.
But the insufficient feeds remain.

Edit: bitbtc bitusd market worked after putting in an order.
But Bitgold bitusd, still gives insufficient feeds

Hmm...looks interesting. The Chinese stuff is kind of confusing though, for obvious reasons.

All I know is: I want that Batman vs Superman BTS wallpaper. 1920 x 1200. Stat.

General Discussion / Re: Anouncement Concerning BTS Vesting
« on: January 20, 2015, 01:56:00 pm »
Because the vesting period started in November and they are just being unlocked now.

Well let's see...I believe the vesting period began on 11/5/14, right? Two and a half months. And the vesting is for a period of 2 years...which means approx. 52,083,333 of the 500,000,000 new BTS will be unlocked at once.

Thanks for the heads up mate. I thought it would start as off today.

Anyway, yeah, we might see a little dump today then. But after we should be getting back on track.
Can anyone from the dev team confirm vesting started in November?

Get ready for the massive sell off.

Are you guys serious?

Even if everybody that has a vesting balance, would sell of their part everyday.
That would be 685.000 BTS sell pressure, sure this would hurt the price a little bit.

But do you really think everyone is going to sell off their vesting balances?

I would be surprised if it was more than 10% of that.
Unfortunately there is no way to measure this.

52,000,000 BTS is unlocked today. Even if 10% of that is dumped that is still 5.8 million BTS on 1 day. Going forward the vesting balances are going to put downward pressure on BTS.
Just curious how did you come to that 52 million number?

I thought that vesting balances would be unlocked spread over 2 years.
500.000.000/730= 684931 BTS a day.

Thanks for the reply.

Just 2 more questions (still free right?)

DACX will be like the other crowdfunding platforms out there.
DACX won't be using BitAssets (BITUSD, BITCNY etc...) for their crowdfunding, only FIAT?

And the Bitshares blockchain, will be used for trading those BDR's and thus providing liquidity?

If so this is great, I know a large crowdfunding platform in the Netherlands who has been promising to deliver a trading platform. But after 2 years they still haven't realised this. Major obstacle is the Dutch SEC.
