I have been thinking about many things lately and am torn between two paths.  I have thought and thought and thought about it, but have yet to be able to decide--until I realized I was looking at the problem incorrectly.  It isn't something I can decide alone.  The Beyond Bitcoin community is simply people who are interested in projects beyond the first iteration of blockchain technology--the real passionate crypto fans who want to live and breath it.  Anyone can join...so I should be asking the community (yes you who are reading this too). 

So with that said, I have place a poll above and would be very grateful if you could tell me your opinions on why we should or should not look to a worker proposal.  Thanks for your honesty and I'm looking forward to hearing a productive discussion.

I have watching this thread passively for awhile now and have decided that it is important to reach out to you to ask if you are interested in posting content from your local hangouts to beyond bitcoin.   Or perhaps have your own sites for each location (if you run those meetups like some do) and we can provide links to your full content from the site.   

If you think about it, it makes perfect sense since we basically have a decentralized global meetup every week on our mumble server...so why not show people how many local movements are beginning to grow in the BitShares ecosystem?

Technical Support / "Failed to restore wallet backup."

For some reason my backup will not open.  It also had this same problem on many of the prior releases. 

The information I get back is:

"Failed to restore wallet backup.  Your original wallet has been restored. Error: invalid password (20001)
Invalid Password!

If you are sure that your password and backup file are correct, please post a support request here:.....(these forums)"

I have tried every single password I have used more than once (I have them all written down so it is not a mistake) and I know that the backup is the correct one...so I guess now I'm here. 

Anyone able to give me some insight?

Everyone here on these forums finds themselves needing help with various issues throughout their time as part of the community.  All of us have had times when someone helped us when they didn't need to, and I would like to try to get their efforts recognized.

So if someone has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help you lately, please advocate for them by posting about it in this thread in the following format:
1)  Who went above and beyond to help you?
2)  How did they help you?
3)  Approximately how long did they help you?
4)  Approximate Date/Time you received help?   
5)  Did they ask for anything in return?
6)  Did you pay them anything?
7)  Any other details you feel are pertinent?

I will drop by to occasionally grab this information and post it to the following Brownie Distribution thread to try to give these unsung heroes a way to be given credit for what they have done.  I cannot promise anything, but I have a feeling that if it is noteworthy we may be able to get them brownies.

General Discussion / A Worker Proposal Banner on CMC?

What if I put together a worker proposal for a banner on CMC?  Would you support it if I volunteered to organize and do the accounting for it free of charge?

I'm thinking we do something like NeuCoin did (everyone who has gone to CMC knows what NeuCoin is...) where it is a constant banner. 

Only our banner says:
"Do you Believe in the Sharing Economy? Get Paid to Build your Dreams on BitShares..."  or something to that effect.
