General Discussion / Re: BlockPay in Serious Trouble

Thanks Fuzzy. I just tuned in to your show the first time and appreciate all you do for BTS

SO many people here doing amazing things for BTS.  So few known as well as they should be.  The more resources I continue getting though...the more I will make that no longer true ;)

General Discussion / Re: BlockPay in Serious Trouble
« on: June 29, 2017, 08:00:26 pm »
And another issue... I got this from the state of the network report

"In this weeks Bitshares Hangout, [member=30868]kenCode[/member] and [member=49]onceuponatime[/member] have revealed that Bitshares Stealth utilizing CA (Confidential Assets) is in active development and should be seeing this tech hit the testnet in the next couple of months. Big thanks to [member=49]onceuponatime[/member] who has taken it upon himself to fund the remaining development of Stealth and ensure Ken and the team have the runway required to finalise the project."

Does this mean blockpay is not going to enjoy the benefits from stealth?

If stealth becomes a core functionality of the BTS network, why should BlockPay be not able to benefit from it/use it? Am I missing some obvious thing?

Stealth developement is being paid for by blockpay investors... The investors in blockpay should see a direct return from stealth transactions.  [member=30868]kenCode[/member] or [member=38926]Chris4210[/member] needs to clarify how blockpay investors will be compensated for funding stealth.

From the steemit post I quoted, it almost sounds like there is rogue stealth development happening.  Obviously bitshares holders who don't own blockpay couldn't care less who developes stealth, but this should be at the forefront of concerns for blockpay holders.

What is the status of Blockpay ? I see that Ken is back to work, does this mean that everything has been resolved ? Are there peaceful terms or has only his pay been reinstated ?

There seems to be some great tech that Blockpay has but what is the situation of the token ? According to Coinmarket cap only 5 mi of a 100 mi supply are circulating. Is the Echo a separate investment that openledger publicized ? Who benefits from the stealth technology ?

Some answers would help me to decide to invest or not

I'll be honest.  At this point I personally would not touch blockpay tokens.  I hodl them but only because I'm a loyal idealist idiot.  The mess going on there I hope gets cleaned up but regardless what happens there BTS is as strong as its ever been ;)

I look forward to hearing more from this. :)

The marketing effort didn't crumble so much as people said "yeh i'll do something" then philosophically were divided...then left.

I started it hoping people would keep it going without me being the leader of yet another unpaid initiative but I am now in a place where that doesn't matter.  Thanks to BitShares, Steem and a little ingenuity I can pay out HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of dollars in upvotes for content based around bitshares, steem, peerplays and any other graphene chains that see fit :)

Philosophically divided... it's a loss. One person says they have too much other stuff to do while another flat out says.. "we gave it a shot." Nothing got done and that is very frustrating for someone like me, who is actually doing something.

I think what I'm pushing forward with... is what you we're hoping for [member=602]fuzzy[/member]  We're not looking funding.. we're here to tell it like it is. In tomorrow morning BBH hangout, I'm coming on to introduce M.E.T.A.and we're going to give a breakdown of some projects and ideas to look out for. We have the studio, talent and content to draw attention, build hype and win followers..

Amen.  We need to get shit done.  The time for talking about it is last year.  Now that I have whaleshares, politics is alot less of a barrier.  Lets build ;)

The Format of these Hangouts:
These hangouts will have a moderator who will go through a list of worker proposals and other useful crowdsourced voluntary information that is brought to the steemit thread where I post these hangout announcements.  Those who join these hangouts as audience members will receive random sharedrops of whaleshares tokens to upvote their own bitshares (and beyondbitcoin of course) related content.  Those who join with Worker proposals ill get a Guaranteed 20 WhaleShares (approx $60 value) just for joining with a worker proposal.  If you are a worker who is joining with piles of work you have not already been paid for, you will likely receive MANY MORE whaleshares (which can bring you literally 1000's of dollars over the course of a single month) even if your worker proposal does not get voted in!

Our hangouts will range from 45-60 minutes and the moderator will do his best to move seemlessly through topics at hand.  Do you want to get some resources or working on your passion---bitshares?  We can help you! But only if you help us... ;)

What will I get from Participating?

I'm really changing things around after a long week of thinking.  Since the tools I've needed for so long are finally becoming available and beyondbitcoin has grown to have over 3000 weekly listens on soundcloud alone (not including youtube and bitchute platforms).  WhaleShares has now opened up the opportunity for me to even pay out in steem dollars, steempower, reputation and visibility those posters who use the Steem platform  to represent the BitShares community--Ethereum is beating us currently on there!  So I want this thread to be a place where people post about issues, news, and MOST IMPORTANTLY worker proposals for the Bitshares Ecosystem. Over this past 4 years, I believe I have proven that I am willing to continue helping this community even through the hardest times.

In short, I once wanted to build trust and prove my intentions for this project before asking what I saw many others over time receive (and take with little to no results).  But now I feel like it is a fair time to ask support from the community with whom I have bled on the field of crypto battle.  I will begin taking a bigger role if the community lets me.  But that first step requires your consideration as a proxy so these bitshares hangouts can become a place to not only show people how alive and vibrant this grassroots community effort is, but also show them that good works that are already done get rewarded in both reputation, recognition and funding.

Please vote for browniedistro as proxy if you wish to be able to follow weekly worker proposals that join our hangout for coverage!
https://openledger.io/account/account_name_here/voting/

And if you join with a project I love but I and attendees cannot vote your project in BTS ecosystem, I will gladly reward you with some WhaleShares, where a full 100% upvote is worth nearly $400 worth of Steem so you can advocate your position outside of bitsharestalk and on our sister DAC where structural differences give me an edge in various potential ways.  So you should have NO FEAR in joining us as long as you are doing something good for the ecosystem!

How Much Time Will I Have?
Hangouts will be at least 45 minutes long, but depending on attendance and projects/topics to be covered may last up to 1 hour. Given this, we will try to stay with 4-5 core topics and will fit in others where possible.

Is any topic off Limits?
Yes. We reserve the right to learn from the newest trickster trolling steemit consistently searching for way to insert chaos into the equation and devise future strategies for negating these. Naturally if these efforts become ham-fisted attempts at shutting down free speech in honest conversations, the audience will hold us accountable.
But with that said....pretty much anything can be covered--even up to and including current events. However, I personally will only be voting up stories that touch the blockchain in some way shape or form and will be asking the community to downvote absolute Rubbish! ;)

Please Post Additions to the Open Source Agenda Thread on Steemit so we can pay you for your contributions and help you increase the BTS Community's Strength in the strongest crypto-social network in the world!

General Discussion / Re: Bitshares as a platform for ICOs?
« on: June 22, 2017, 11:55:01 pm »
Someone I know is planning an ICO for his offline company. He is considering launching an erc20 token on etherium which seems to be a popular option lately. Should he consider Bitshares for his ICO? Is Bitshares suitable, ready?

You could use bts, but you should work with Ronny at openledger.  He has an entire operation for creating, marketing, and launching icos on multiple platforms. [member=42214]ccedk_pro[/member] is the best way to contact him here I believe.

though i can see workng with ronny there is also a benefit to others being here.

The Format of these Hangouts:

This post is planned to go up every Thursday the day before the BitShares Hangout. BitShares community members who post subjects to cover and bring topics of discussion are asked to do so in response to this post first. @officialfuzzy can finally pay people who have supported this powerful cryptocurrency for the past 4 years since its birth and evolution. So reply below with valuable topics, updates, info we should cover and earn upvotes from in this thread and earn a special bonus if yours are chosen!
How much time will we have?

Hangouts will be at least 45 minutes long, but depending on attendance and projects/topics to be covered may last up to 1 hour. Given this, we will try to stay with 4-5 core topics and will fit in others where possible.

What will we earn for contributing?
Those who attend will each earn from a pool of bitshares that will be purchased with earnings from this post. They will then be given directly to you via our new guestbook that we are testing.
Fuzzy will be giving whaleshares to community founders who attend this weekly hangout to give their own unique perspectives and expert commentary. He will also be giving them to people who give topics and information we choose to use in our hangout!

And let's not forget...you get SP through upvoting quality information and content worth sharing with the top minds in crypto across the graphene ecosystem!
