Is the deposit Thingie work yet? I want to send some UIA to Sharebits.

yes.

Here is a great little explanation of the problem though (and how to fix it):

Have a token and looking to advertise it within the community? Beyond Bitcoin hangouts are among the oldest and most powerful community-driven efforts for connecting passionate community members to one another.  Please consider Sharing some of your tokens to the list of individuals who make these hangouts possible along with an explanation of the token's use case/project or updates.  It is entirely possible you may even hear your token advertised live at the next hangout!

This is odd.  I'll have to talk to joey about it.  There has to be something that can be done about the certificate issue.

Bitshares is the Linux of Finance. Powering the Fin-Tech technologies of tomorrow. Giving investors and entrepreneurs alike a new way to achieve their financial initiatives and investment goals without the hassles of yesterday's banking technologies. Now creating assets, trading, banking and other activities can be achieved... etc etc

Key here is the first two sentences. My take as an entrepreneur. Lets not try to market like everyone else. Lets be ourself. Just my two $ense.

*update*
Hybridd responded and told me he would look at it when he gets home.

He and Kuro have been working non stop on gamebet's new UI over the past few days.
Sorry for the delay.

@Xypher,
Ronny from @ccedk noticed that the sharebot doesn't seem to be gaining any of the referral income it should.  Can you check into why the referrals aren't working?

...without a sharebot :)

@fuzzy - maybe you did create something of massive value haha.

I'm working on a side project that will feed into Peertracks, just making sure there's an easy way to pay everyone.

I talked to peertracks about implementing the sharebot so they could easily do things like this.  Freebieservers' team quoted 1k to do it, but cob said they could not pay for it.

Kuro also said there was a way to have a wrapper/dll built for 500-800 dollars that would enable people to extend the bot to their own projects using any of multiple code libraries.  So for 1800 dollars max both of those things could be done and it would literally be available for anyone to write their own scripts to automate payments like this.

I have spoken to @Xypher about the second half of this and potentially paying out of pocket (after I save up the funds to do so--maybe 2 months) for the wrapper/dll.  I am unsure whether or not it has been brought up yet.  Perhaps xypher will give some input here.

Isn't teamspeak more simple for everyone?

teamspeak is not open source, but it is similar in functionality.  Not really better or worse otherwise though.

General Discussion / Re: Community currencies on ethereum
« on: March 04, 2016, 06:19:25 am »
This is going to be a very big hit in my opinion. Would it be possible on BitShares ?

http://communitycurrency.website

https://github.com/segovro/Community-Currency/wiki

what we are looking into with the sharebot is a way to give different forum communities a way to pass their own community and even personal tokens on popular forums software.

this would be very similar. kind of like "guild" currencies.

imagine for instance, every community that has a gorum decides it also wants to enable their users to very quickly pass tokens to one-another.  then imagine if communities can actually charge people to "unlock" the use of their coin on those forums...and you now have given all forum communities a means of bartering without paypal, with faster transactions, customized tokens and means of gaining reputation across forum communities.

that isnt even talking about social network and blog integration...

I'll be there to talk business with the community after the hangout is over.

nice. :)
good to see you around man

I think you're missing the point

What would happen to the market cap of BitShares if the algos started picking up news stories of how the lead dev of B.T.S. just got hired by V.I.S.A?

you do know counter-party dev was hired by a big company as well right .....

to build something different from xcp...

now one question i have is whether or not working for visa might give someone like bm the resources he needs to build the solutions visa (and bts) needs.

It could be one hellnof a powerful move if he networks with the right people and lets bitshares be "officially" run by those already in our ecosystem...while keeping us in mind. ;)

An employee would have to sign NDA's and VISA would own the intellectual property rights to their work so it wouldn't be shared. Whichever blockchain loses a developer to that job wouldn't benefit imo.

well that is a good point.  not sure precisely how that would work, but i suspect many people who worked in the unix environment for for telecoms also got to contribute to the open source stuff.
