Very very nice work.  What is the timetable for this?  I would expect this announcement to provide a nice bump in market cap.

My understanding is the next blog post is to be posted next week. Please continue adding to this thread your ideas thru week's end.

Great work, Fox!  @Stan 's skill in announcement is much needed here.  Please do include it in our coming Newsletter.

dont forget @ccedk!

Id rather focus on the speed, scalability and flexibility of bitshares.  Fox is talking to the bizdev of strategy...one hell of a strategy would be to show that, and then tall about the features (like smartcoins) as some examples of what can be done in the future.

This guy wants to know about our flexibility, speed and scalability more than ANYONE.

He wants information he can use to help him communicate what BitShares is in his upcoming blog post.

Read his previous blog posts to get a sense of how he has described projects like Factom/Emercoin & contribute ideas on what you think should be included on a similar blog post about BitShares

https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/blog/azure-blockchain-update-5/
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/blog/azure-baas-update-2/
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/blog/ethereum-blockchain-as-a-service-now-on-azure/

Saying speed, scalability and flexibility is great but how would you communicate that in a paragraph etc.

i honestly could devote a paragraph to each.

Speed: Many cryptocurrencies tout their use of the blockchain and its empowering technology, but they still are searching for solutions to transacting in a way that competes with legacy systems.  BitShares is based on graphene, which is the fastest blockchain architecture in the world.  This means purchasing on the bitshares and other graphene based blockchains will take LESS time than credit cards of today, whilse STILL maintaining all of the security blockchain lovers enjoy.  No more waiting hours on transactions to go through.  And more importantly in the information age, no more 10 second waits!

Scalability: (a much larger paragraph potentially could be written here.  Various businesses want their own blockchain and graphene enables them to scale as much or as little as necessary.

Flexibility:  open source, mit license enables companies to build NEW functionalities in a space where not all functionailties are yet even known. Bitshares and graphene enable businesses to fund small portions of development for features they wish implemented and profit from others use of those features.  If you are first to a feature that is a killer feature, you not only have the first movers advantage, but the power of the fastest, most scalable and flexible blockchain technology on earth.

done in on my phone in less than 8 minutes...and this is the first draft.  busniess strategists want to know we let THEM build what they need and our King FEATURE is goving them the knowledge they are building on the most scalable and fastest platform in existence.

or we can leave it to ethereum to get that one in spades too...cause i promise you from watching their "APPLE-ESQUE" Marketing they already plan it.

dont get bogged down in things that are still experimental.

Please spend he whole hangout discussing  Sidechains.

-  Different ways they could be implemented
-  Ball park figures on how much each implementation would cost
-  How long to implement?
-  Could they be suitable to be funded as a fee backed asset
-  What are the risks of multi sig colluders?
-  Does Bytemaster think this should be at the top of  our to do list?
-  Would BTC sidechain eliminate the need for most UIABTC and even BITBTC?
-  Would this increase liquidity dramatically by having a unified BTC asset?
- What about Ethereum or other coins being implemented in a similar fashion?

im still working on contacting some of the blockstream team members most recently adam back, but havent heard any response yet.

I think you're missing the point

What would happen to the market cap of BitShares if the algos started picking up news stories of how the lead dev of B.T.S. just got hired by V.I.S.A?

you do know counter-party dev was hired by a big company as well right .....

to build something different from xcp...

now one question i have is whether or not working for visa might give someone like bm the resources he needs to build the solutions visa (and bts) needs.

It could be one hellnof a powerful move if he networks with the right people and lets bitshares be "officially" run by those already in our ecosystem...while keeping us in mind. ;)

Im glad we are learning and TRYING.
Im glad there was participation from the start because they will tend to be the ones who stick around.

Im sad we i didnt know enough about it with enough notice to help :/

I would say from experience, it is good to do it multiple times, at the same time of day, every week for a specified period of time. And give a good time period for notice.

For 1 silverticket (100 coppertickets) you can get a 30 second ad sponsorship mentioned at the end of a hangout.  And anyone can promote your project in this way...so it doesnt even have to be you. :)
Also, we can hold hangouts if given notice.

this would qualify for one hell of a question and answer session between bytemaster, xeroc and the moneygrid people.  If someone can help me snag it i'll give them 5 SILVERTICKETs.

General Discussion / The Sharebot Decentralized?
« on: February 29, 2016, 06:07:09 pm »
@abit was talking about how he prefers to work on decentralized solutions but I got the sense he was hinting we could make the sharebot run off its own graphene chain.

I am not sure whether this is something that would be a good idea. Or even if it is plausible (though I assume it would be possible to have a graphene-based blockchain as a replacement to a mysql one).  I am kicking around the idea to see what others think about the technical feasibility.  Of course, if it was its own blockchain, it would also have to be able to connect up with other blockchains (bitshares is the absolute obvious one).

Letting @hybridd know.

General Discussion / Re: Is Bitshares attempting to get on Microsoft Azure?
« on: February 29, 2016, 05:47:25 am »
I am in contact with Microsoft on their Azure Blockchain as a Service (BaaS) offering.  My intention is to create a deployment template for a Witness Node & CLI Wallet on Unbuntu 14.04 LTS.  Thereafter, I intend to investigate creating a template for the UI and also a template for Windows instances.

I'll post a link here once the templates are accepted into BaaS.

Please review the Microsoft BaaS blog posts:

A deposit that was sent to my account has not been credited. 150 BTS on block # 3808523.

It still hasn't shown up. Is it required that users contact someone who's running the bot to have a deposit credited? If that is the case who do I contact? I assumed it was automated.

It is automatic, but you do have to make sure you do what konelectroc said. Did you? Lets start from there and go forward.
