Good shit fuznuts. Let's see how I3's "social media specialist" can keep up

They will not be able to "keep up" when the community comes together around this...and they should not expect to be able to.  A community-driven platform will slowly become a Honey-Badger juggernaut and I somehow feel like Invictus leadership is aware of this.  The social medias specialist and marketing departments will serve their own functions too!

Much love!

I think there should also be a betting platform used to allow people to actually put down cryptos on the outcome of competitive video games.  This can be done for games that allow observation as well as games without.

For instance, League of Legends would be similar to a horse race where bets can be made on multiple aspects and outcomes and be open to observers of the competition as well as players.

Games like Chess that are only viewable between the players competing could contribute to a winner-take-all pot.  Though I love the concept of games, I feel Bingo is a little too old school to gain traction in the demographic with the largest crypto user-base--Males between the ages of 18-30.

I just don't want that B and the others feel pressured.

When people do things voluntarily it is not as efficient as slave work but they also don't burn out. It's then more art, which is what I like. I believe you know much more about marketing and stuff.

From my feeling, I3 does not want to be a company that plays the game like so many do it. Produce cheap, sell a lot. Thing breaks, buy again. I cannot handle pressure from outside, it makes my thinking and emotions go crazy. Give them some air to breathe and wonders will happen.

Like when I worked at the video store. I was always stoned and the boss fired me one day. He said that I would levitate through the company and working not fast enough. He was taking the pills for the stomach acid problems he created by himself. He wanted me to become like him and work like a maniac.

You know the feeling between an organic shop and a discounter. When the product and the environment is good for everyone, the people will come and then the discounter has to offer organic otherwise he will lose his business.

What I am attempting to do with our community is to bring in ANY kind of talent that YOU want to bring to the table.  This must be organic...and you must contribute by doing what you love, and sharing it.  Remember the new paradigm we are building is a NEW PARADIGM.  Think outside the box.  See beyond "profit" based in tokens and recognize that you are fundamental to bringing value to this.

I want to do this because unlike some decentralized, hyped, and Goldman Sachs connected platforms, Invictus has up to this point proven themselves to actually care about their impact on the world as opposed to being the all-powerful chain that rules them all.  This feels real to me... and it is because the community has treated me like family from the very start.  But it is time to expand our family.

Bottom line, we cannot expect a Centralized company to perform well in this venture without our grass roots support.  Adam B Levine should understand this as well as anyone here...but he is by no means the only one qualified to enrich the community.  If the tech doesn't work, and the community is resilient...it will overcome and will solidify the Honey-Badger syndrome we have come to love about Bitcoin, and that will allow the tech to come back stronger and with fewer bugs.  Remember, we are moving BEYOND Bitcoin, and Invictus has yet to even give us a small subset of the tools they intend on providing us!

Sincerely looking forward to building a New World Order with you that is precisely the opposite of what the Syth have planned.

This project is moving forward.  I have been away with a baby just released from ICU, but assure the community I am still here and my energy is still focused on providing the community with a decentralized method for creating media to help bring the concept of DACs to a broader audience.
Also, I am accepting volunteers with a passion for helping to build a more just and efficient society so if you are interested in volunteering your skills please email me at the bolded email below.

General Discussion / Re: MtGox is offline, any thoughts?
« on: February 28, 2014, 06:49:30 pm »
No matter if people like that Gox closed up shop its negative media attention for virtual currencies.  In addition people need to realize Gox got btc to where it is today.  Everyone may not agree on how they operated however talk is cheap and they provided one of the first btc exchanges while others just complain on forums...

Well the funny thing is, Brekyrself...many of the people "complaining" on these forums are actually doing far more behind the scenes than you are apparently aware of.  Not trying to sound like an a-hole here, but a Decentralized Exchange is FAR more than just a complaint...and investing hard-earned capital to give it breath...is FAR more than cheap talk.

As far as Gox, they deserve little respect as far as I'm concerned.  Their fault lies in either complicity and corruption, or blatant disregard for the safety of their customer's funds.  Nice trollololing though ;)

This could be a bad week to debut BTS if the rumors tonight are true about MTgox's BTC. We could see a very weak market the next week and this could deter people away from the entire sector of cryptos.  Maybe a buying opportunity with BTS?

Disagree!

People who get it will be extra willing to listen to decentralized exchange proposals now more than ever. People who don't shouldn't be buying BTS at this stage.

I also think we can take advantage of this. Mtgox, the biggest? and oldest? exchange goes down. This should be marketed as evidence that centralized exchanges are not safe! Some marketing scare tactics here should be in place. So BTS X seems like the only safe alternative, wich is true.

100%

This MtGox situation shows precisely the increased risk one is forced to take when using centralized exchanges.

Decentralized Exchanges will be like giving EVERYONE the ability to store their we

I'd be happy to introduce Tabitha, our social media specialist.  She'll be helping us build our social media platforms and hopes to get everyone in the forum involved. She's been an incredible help to us so far and is excited to be a part of what we're doing with BitShares.  B

Nice!

I've taken ownership of /r/BitShares. BTS will need a presence on reddit. I encourage you all to subscribe and participate.

I would love to connect with you at some point and see if there is any way to collaborate on this effort as there may be some cross-avenues we can open for each other with regard to participation and planning of other Social Media ventures.

Also, we will need a BitShares tipbot!!
