http://invictus-innovations.com/mission/ @ approx 31:50 there is a segment worth setting up.  I honestly would love to see a little "DAC" of sorts open up as a venture for features like this to be "mined" into existence somehow by people who believe in it.  Would be VERY interesting PR move for Invictus Innovations...as well as the value of the currencies.

Bitcoin Faces Regulatory Push in Senate Banking Committee Hearing
It was refreshing to see a Senate hearing kick off half an hour early for a change, and in a place with far more sitting room than room 538 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building. Just before 15:00 ET, while aides were still preparing that room for the two-hour session, Senator Jerry Moran posted a question on reddit:
“I’m one of the Senators attending today’s US Senate Banking Committee hearing related to bitcoin. What would you like me to know?”
He wanted wider input on what senators would be discussing yesterday afternoon: the promises and threats of virtual currencies, and how the banking system could engage them.
While academics, regulators, and banking industry representatives gave their views to a panel of Senators, redditors responded. The difference in opinion and tone was obvious. Most of the discussion in the hearing (other than BitPay CEO Tony Gallippi’s comments) focused on the risks around bitcoin and how to best regulate it to mitigate those risks. But like Gallippi’s a lot of the reddit feedback centred on the need to let it breathe.

Bitcoin Could be Regulated as a Commodity, Senate Banking Hearing Advised
"Bitcoin could be regulated as a commodity if market volatility continues, academics and financial industry players warned at a Senate hearing today.
Speaking at a subcommittee hearing organized by the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, a representative from a financial industry technology round table also called for more regulation for virtual currencies."

Whether or Not Bitcoin Needs it, Regulators are Going to Regulate
As the Senate’s Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs begins its hearing on virtual currencies today, one question stands out: do we need one?
Tne commenter on bitcointalk.org said: “Waste of time. A decentralized currency doesn’t need that.”
The whole point of bitcoin, after all, is that it was designed to usurp central control. Like the Internet itself, it routes itself around regulation. And yet, bitcoin advocates including Jeremy Allaire, founder of merchant payment services firm Circle Internet Financial, are gathered in a room in Washington, DC, to try and help regulators understand it. Why?

“It is very short-sighted for community members to think that bitcoin can be anything but a niche tool by eschewing policy makers and government,” Allaire told CoinDesk. He should know – some $2m of the $9m that Circle raised will likely be spent on achieving regulatory compliance.
“Whether one wants it, or thinks the currency needs it, or not, the fact is that the Senate will hold hearings, and regulators will regulate,” agreed Jerry Brito, a senior research fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University and director of its Technology Policy Program, who also testifies today.
“Bitcoin can’t be controlled very easily by governments, if at all, but the development of its infrastructure by entrepreneurs and innovators can certainly be hampered by bad law and regulation...”

Senate Banking Committee, backed by the largest military force in the world and a rabid bureaucratic regime who is increasingly reminded that the structure upon which they rely for power and influence is consistently eroding, meet to talk about the future of Bitcoin.  Very interesting stuff to listen to...

Please watch and add your reflections.  Let us attempt to provide dev's and community with our honest assessments of the situation and potential developments for which we may need to prepare.  The collective ideas and experiences of our community can provide vast insight into how entrepreneurs can adapt in an environment that is now openly increasing its level of awareness and the potential "threats" true innovation represents to a few central authorities behind a largely corrupt, obtuse and dying system.  An old Alpha Dog cornered is still deadly...and right now SOME people are openly drawing lines in the sand and battle plans.  We CAN have a Velvet Revolution and STILL help potential enemies learn the true potential entrepreneurs Free Space represent.  How do we turn this "battle" into a coalition of understanding?

I see.  It only matters if we want to pay for a special designation...

Something to think about.  Is there a huge difference in how much it helps to purchase a special designation as opposed to mining new names into existence?

5015
Would this be possible?  Would it be preferable?  Is there some Technological factor I am not taking into account that would give reason for why would would not accomplish this?

Couldn't this model be used for ALL forms of media?

ArtShares (digital art)?  PodShares (podcasts)? MelodyShares (Music)? TubeShares (video)?  ...InterpretiveDanceShares?  (ok ok...too far there...but you get the idea)

If I am not missing something, this could blossom into something really all-encompassing--though the higher bandwidth ones may require a bit longer to implement due to their larger file-sizes...

It is a market for speculation on ideas represented outside the blockchain, so no need to store content in the blockchain.... it could just be a torrent link.

Wow... this could change the way we get media so much!

Lol...this is the first thing that has actually given me a great deal of hope for humanity.  Bitcoin started it, but also gave me a sense that it is Quite Possible to be Monopolized.  This, however, feels different.  I agree with you 100% phoenix...

Could this model be used to bring TRUE crowd-sourced ratings on politicians based on voting records?

We all know of the quote "Lies, Damned Lies and Statistics"...because up until now Statistics were almost always altered by some Central Authority.  With the introduction of DAC's (god you guys are awesome for this invention btw), ratings could truly be crowd-sourced...and statistical models built upon data truly gathered through the "wisdom of the masses".

Great concept.  We won't know until some inspired entrepreneur (like yourself?) releases such a DAC into the wild...   :)

BitShares is a prediction market, and can operate like existing prediction markets.    We have designs for a secure, authenticated, yet anonymous, continuous voting system that could end media manipulation of opinion polls as well as the less-of-two-evils voting because you can change your vote (anonymously) at any time up until the end of the election.

I feel like the biggest problem in that kind of a DAC would be getting widespread adoption. Sure, a lot of tech-savy people would be able to understand and use it fairly easily, but many people could find themselves confused by the system if it isn't presented in a very simple format. Best of luck to anyone who tries this!

Mobile Phone Apps?? Seems even my Mom and Grandpa play around with those darned things..

Insurance is something that is hard to do in a DAC because of insurance fraud.   You could use a DAC to predict the value of cures or to estimate the risk of various procedures.

The problem is that a DAC cannot depend upon any ONE provider of a good or service and a DAC must be able to reach a consensus about things without relying upon trust.

The building blocks that we have to work with are:

1) Equity
2) Dividends
3) Transaction Fees
4) Multi-Sig Transactions
5) Prediction Markets
6) Options
7) Auctions

So a prediction market on the weather, the chance of a hurricane, the value of a dollar, an idea, or a political outcome are all possible.    If you want insurance it must use these tools as the foundation or invent a new tool.

Would it be possible for HealthCare DAC's to hire Dr's to provide services based on a specific pricing model of their choosing, thus opening a new market to compete with the current one that is flush with corruption?  Like I said before, I am still learning so definitely interested in the concept.  I also am aware you guys don't want to go to prison for the rest of your lives for offering a service that, though all-around better and uplifting to humanity--is deemed "illegal" by narcissistic bureaucrats at the behest of their puppet masters.  However, this also brings up a good point to consider, both for the Dev Team and the Community at large...Is this meant to be a Velvet Revolution?  And if so, how can DAC's be built up to fight the Guaranteed (and potentially thuggish) opposition to progress that will be encountered?

My vote is for moving toward progress as long as it benefits people...but i'm just a little guy with a bunch of ideas ;)

General Discussion / Re: 3D Printing DAC
« on: November 19, 2013, 11:30:40 am »
1) Payment for the models and community votes would be my thoughts--connecting the votes with a value based on the level of trust a user (See project Keyhotee) earns?  How this would be coded, however, I am not sure.  I am not a coder.

2)  DAC's within DAC's...  I read somewhere the concept of DAC's born as offshoots of DAC's.  This method could potentially work as well...and likely would be a more Free Market approach.  For instance, I create a DAC that provides production of widgets designed added by my team members.  For my team's DAC to thrive,  the 1st stage of production would be a form of advertisement-- it would be in our interest to mine shares in the 3d Printing DAC and contribute original designs to that DAC in order to help build a basic infrastructure and level of community trust--thus bringing more investment and mining of shares.  There could be some way of labeling the design so the design team is evident.
2a) At this point, my team has helped the Host 3d Printing DAC build support and trust and my team's designs have become well-known.  Our trust has been earned by the community and our originally-mined shares have grown in value within the system.  We have also contributed to other teams' development (Gadget Teams grow to use widgets specifically designed by My Team, John's Team, and Mary's Team...and have established significant reputations).
2b) We then Create our own WidgetDAC as an offshoot, offering previous designs at a lower initial cost than available on the Host DAC (which will always remain on the Host DAC in case something happens to our offshoot Corporation) to incentivize the move to investment of shares into our new WidgetDAC...New relationships grow and divisions grow into new DAC's as we gain more talent and specialize in different areas of modeling.
2c)  Gadget DAC's then begin growing as a function of the burgeoning innovation in specialization of parts and relationships between DAC offshoots grow.

Of course this thread should be a platform for conversation, new ideas and discussion (with oppositional concepts welcome).  Interested to hear how other people feel about it.

Oh...and of course, these ideas are FREE.  Take them.  I'm not a politician or Bank Cartel Leader/Thug and as such prefer to see humanity thrive through the SHARING of ideas.  So if you like any of these ideas TAKE them.  If you want my thoughts on other issues, please ask.  Help me grow in my understanding so I might better help this community flourish and overtake the Nasty Narcissists in this world who believe they are the only ones who deserve lives of abundance & purpose...

You can tip them protoshares here, I sent 2 - Donating to podcasts like this makes them more likely to talk about it, and I want everybody to know about Protoshares.
PROTOSHARES: PtTy4odKrFq6afXyU3459kNetonztAu6Lk

Nice!  Some clarification, ProtoShares don't BUY shares in a DAC they CLONE shares in to may DACs.   IE: you don't give up your protoshares when a new DAC is released.

Why would anyone ever sell Protoshares then?

Because they paid a fortune for their 3000 vps accounts. Now they have to pay their crazy credit card bills. I just hope when they dump it doesn't crash protoshares.

If they ever did such a dump, that would be a great chance for the small investor to get a bigger stake, no?

Man....I HOPE someone with a crap-ton of them drops them so I can buy more on the cheap.  I'm in this for the long haul and monetary gain is a secondary reason.

Keyhotee / Purchasing Identities...and loss of future DAC buy-in?

When we purchase an identity within the project keyhotee DAC system...does that mean we forgo all future shares in DAC's related to them?  How does this aspect work?

You wily bastards...people really have no clue "yet" how this changes everything.  One good DAC and follow-through on a promise...and this is skyrocketing in value--especially the kind that really matters--the value to the entirety of humanity.

History in the making...
