General Discussion / Re: Yet Another Price Feed Mod
« on: December 13, 2014, 09:03:49 am »
Can you add KRW to your script? There is a growing interest in BitKRW and I want to introduce Korean community how to use it. (Plus encouraging Korean exchanges to add BitKRW)

Done!

I didn't realise how much feed it already got. Also I see a lot of new markets were enabled recently. I'm updating my feeds so that I publish feed for each active market (and KRW as it currently has 49 feeds).

When the price is changing fast we should have frequent feed updates, right?

I believe yes. However this is up to each delegate. Everyone is free to pick any configuration.

What was the story with this, why all the transactions?

Part of the transactions were expected due to normal work of feed scripts.
Part of the transactions were expected due to delegates updating public data fields.
Part of the delegates missed their slot so others need to register more transactions into the blockchain.
There was indeed higher TPS but the script in question wasn't the main cause.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Technical Delegates Real Time Chat
« on: December 12, 2014, 09:09:38 pm »
@gamey The initial intent of this is real time chat.

Ahh I got this thread confused with another?  My bad.

I will stick by my point though.  You need email for initial alert, then use forums.  Typing 1 line messages and not having to hit the refresh button are not features that are > ubiquity of a basic forum.  You type your new info in and hit save.  When someone wants to read more data, they click refresh.

It is barely any less real time than an IM, except it requires people to hit refresh.

I mean, if you want a private group then instant messaging seems useful.  If you want it to aid in troubleshooting I don't see how IM systems help much.

I dont share your opinion. Forum software is not mobile-friendly. It is full of non-essential stuff.
I would use another means of communication if I had the choice.

Code: [Select]
{
  "blockchain_head_block_num": 1247432,
  "blockchain_head_block_age": "7 seconds old",
  "blockchain_head_block_timestamp": "2014-12-12T20:45:20",
  "blockchain_average_delegate_participation": "70.63 %",

It is pleasing to see how fast delegates act in order to restore the network security, isn't it ?

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: What is the Reason For 0.4.25 Forks ?

@Bytemaster
I wonder if you can implement the testnet into the clients.
Essentially double all the actions it does -> once for the real network and once for the test network.
If testing is paid a lot of users/delegates would be willing to enable that feature. And BTS will have testing environment much closer to the real.

We are reviewing our options, but the conclusion is clear.   DevShares needs to come out as soon as possible because it is the most likely way we would have caught this bug.

That is what I wanted to see. Sorry if the questions I asked were a bit unpleasant or harsh. Bugs happen regardless how much you think over the issue(s).

Testing and release procedures might expose a lot of the bugs.

The questions in OP are not answered.
Consider this a bump.

I've tested the script on v0.4.26 and it is working as designed.

I've upgraded delegates to 0.4.26 (resync blockchain).
I've updated the seed to 0.4.26 (reindexed).
Everything seems OK.

I tried something like this.
There is little interest.
I'll add anyone who wants to be in the group (provided I have his ID).

I've stopped my seed node and delegates until I'm able to upgrade.
All this unplanned stuff happened during my worktime...
