General Discussion / Re: https://bitshares.org/wallet
« on: October 14, 2015, 10:11:09 am »
Someone please put a warning message box in front of the official online wallet, saying clearly that online wallets are inherently less safe than local wallets (i.e., running a local client on our own machine as basis for the wallet gui).
That is not totally true .. the webwallet runs you keys locally .. its not like blockchain.info
to be super secure you compile the web wallet on you own and run it locally .. it would still be a web wallet but very secure

Most users will be unable to distinguish between blockchain.info and local webwallet.
For them it is just a browser thingy.

"Web wallet" is used for both local application AND remote service.
You need to make sure exactly how it works in order to state that it is "safe".

General Discussion / Re: New Metric for Blockchain Confirmation

I like the flexibility of this.
With some tweaking we could have even faster confirmation times.

General Discussion / Re: I have an interview with booking.com this week
« on: August 19, 2015, 09:37:32 pm »
Booking.com provides nice services. They have mobile apps and their last minute booking is useful too.
I hope you'll find a match there.

General Discussion / Re: Test Net for Advanced Users

Is it possible for a pre-anounce of the next test network ?
For example X days before it is started so the witnesses can prepare.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: [SLATE] ***delegate.xeroc***
« on: August 03, 2015, 07:41:52 am »
I removed all 3% delegates with no price feeds from my slate.

Well done!

I'm glad to see this!
Good luck!

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Feed Upgrade Announcements
« on: July 07, 2015, 02:20:35 pm »

Delegates upgraded to Xeroc's latest.
Lets lock this thread and use it only for announcements.

43
Is there a way to "purge" a delegate's feed ?

General Discussion / Re: Announcing Brownie Points (BROWNIE.PTS)
« on: July 02, 2015, 07:51:45 pm »
Why limiting brownie PTS only to positive posts?
Isn't constructve criticism awarded ?

PS: I like the idea very much (:/ Quite an interesting and innovative one.

Thanks for your response. How could I verify which hosting provider is used by the majority of delegates?

This might be tricky. You might want to check their forum information. Announcement threads...
I know that some of them are using amazon and digital ocean but I'm not sure how many of them in total.

... I guess it is OK for now to use anything. Delegates are flexible and can be relocated quickly.
