General Discussion / Re: How much did BitShares raise by ICO?
« on: July 22, 2017, 03:27:20 pm »
I googled by words like "bitshares ico raised", but I can only find BitSharesMunich raised $657,000, OpenLedger raised $1.6 million and so on.
How much did BitShares raised by selling BTS?

BitShares sold no BTS.  They were 100% sharedropped on people who mined PTS and donated to AGS.  About $6M was donated.  Then BTC took another long, slow crash.  Actual funds left to produce BitShares is $2-3M... depend on how you count that year of dev sweat equity.

Random Discussion / Re: Questions about UIA and Becoming a Gateway
« on: July 21, 2017, 02:09:18 am »
Hello Bitshares Community,

We have a few questions about our UIA and need some assistance!

First off, we are an online startup that uses an internal credit system and would like our UIA to be used instead of the credits that are currently being issued. Additionally, we have been researching becoming a Gateway for Bitshares and have a few questions regarding this topic. We would like to talk with someone about using our UIA and the best course of action for us.

1. Do our members need an open ledger account? Or Is there an easier way to issue our UIA to my members?
2. Is our best course of action then to become a gateway?
3. Are there any existing online services that dually function as a gateway?

We want to support Bitshares and help expand the ecosystem while increasing our profits and exposure. We have been eagerly following the Hero Campaign and know our website would help boost the momentum in the following year.

We appreciate any comments and suggestions!

You should ask this here also:

This is where many of the experts hang out.

General Discussion / Re: Why development is not very active now?
« on: July 21, 2017, 02:03:57 am »
From what I've seen github(https://github.com/bitshares ), these days development is not so active.
Does BitShares go down, or are there just few tasks?

Development is focused on building businesses on top of the platform and alliances to promote the platform.  You can't find that on github.

Wrote up a steemit post on the idea discussed today: https://steemit.com/bitshares/@cm-steem/migrating-bitcoin-onto-the-bts-dex-via-uia-snapshot-sharedrop

Nice Trial Balloon.

I need facts about the other chains to get an article into syndication  tomorrow.  Please help with the research on the other altBTCs.

And a "snapshot" is nothing but a block number.
All its data is on the blockchain up to that point.

I'm surprised to see all the other currencies/projects showing double digit recovery and see Bitshares almost at a stand still... It reminds me of the old days...

So, where's that Hero marketing campain? It's radio silence since it kicked in like 2 weeks ago... Guess we'll need to be patient

BM has left BTS???? why??? i just heard the news.

Is there still many people who are woking on BTS, MUSE, Plays and new projects like hero coins?
