I hold. And everytime I see the share price drop significantly, I buy (whatever I can spare). If this makes me a bagholder, than so be it. I invest in people and in the technology, and I believe in the core dev team. As long as they're working on the project the way they have been from the beginning, I will keep holding and buying. Maybe I'll lose everything I invested, that's the risk I'm willing to live with. On the other side, if the team delivers only partially on their promises (and I believe they will), then I'll be handsomely rewarded.

I don't believe in the "get rich quick" schemes. Building solid fundamentals, partnerships and creating organic growth takes time. Not six months to a year. More like five years. And Bitshares 2.0 will be working with other startups, increasing the probability of Bitshares success since any of these startup could go viral, thus increasing significantly Bitshares revenues. THAT will increase Bitshares market value.

Do Bitcoin, Litecoin or Dogecoin can boast to have a profitable business model? They have their utility as a store of value or token of exchange, but other than that they don't generate any profit.

A profitable business is not built on hype and speculation. It's built on solid metrics and business deals.

That`s the way I see it - acting accordingly  :)

You have done a very good job of it.  28,877 blocks generated only 130 missed.  99.55% uptime.  Best percentage in the over 25k club, and 15th in the top 101.

Thank you very much for your appreciation - I learned a lot  :)

I've already seen my daily scrypt mining payouts increase quite a bit over the last week or so - thank you!

I can only imagine what the profitability might be like if we had all these delegates voted in!

And  +5% to @DataSecurityNode - daily payouts for miners is a thankless task that takes a lot of time - thanks for your unsung efforts!

Same here. It`s looking good - thank you !

Good job ! Nice to see this accomplished.  :)

General Discussion / Re: BitShares 0.9.2 Feedback

.....
(and I can see that the "invalid asset amount" error is still there which in some cases prevents people from being able to vote, please fix it if it's possible in this release)

Is there some workaround to this voting problem ? I would like to vote for some delegates but this error is blocking one account for quite some time now.

console

"wallet_list_approvals" lists your current votings

And after using the console as favdesu described remember to go to each of your accounts and transfer your BTS balance to yourself.
More details in this thread:

Thank you - I will give it a try - for each one separately  :)

...........
I'll have to do it manually because it's the vote button where my problem started - it fails to perform with the 35005 invalid_asset_amount error.
...........

Same here - 0.9.1. / WIN 7/64 - only one account affected.

Go for it, you have my vote.

I was just talking with a VC today who is in the process of buying a fiat exchange and is interested in funding us to integrate.   Funding developers is not going to be a problem.

In reality these low prices are HELPING us attract VC money because they can buy in and capture a stake.

Truth.  +5%

The low prices make it possible for the people who predict the future by creating it to accumulate enough to make it worthwhile.

Indeed.

Usually in startups/VC, the equity in the company is held by a small number of investors who are long term believers, knowledgeable about the company, and who are strong hands who would not panic and sell their stake if the valuation went down.  In fact, the shares at that point are not even tradable.

It is a unique thing about cryptocurrencies that they have allowed average people to act like venture capitalists, buying into crypto IPOs.  This is very cool.  And yet, sadly in the current state of crypto, there are just a ton of people running around out there buying and selling cryptocoins that have NO understanding whatsoever of the technology.  And so many of them are weak hands, momentum buyers, who just buy pumps and sell dumps and have no idea what coins are good or bad, other than to look at what coin is going up or down.

........

I agree. It is a completely new phenomenon that through crypto everybody has the opportunity to act as vc`s.
But not everybody is aware of the cycles that every startup is going through. Beside the ones frustrated by the bumpy road caused by erratic management decisions there are frustrated speculators, using the speculation instruments like longs and shorts. Some losing money by gaming the market in the wrong direction.

I am an investor only, buying and holding. As long development is going on and the crew is committed to the project, the opportunities of this project are still outweighing the risks for me.
