General Discussion / Re: BitShares X Status Update
« on: April 17, 2014, 08:17:52 pm »

–the after Feb 28th AGS are late coming diluters of the founding AGSers share; those late comers are also more stupid ones - as they supported someone after this person promised them something and while being very late, instead of trying to deliver on his promises, went to preach his other ideas, improving the concept of his non-existing product
[/i] here, there is no need donations to be stopped. Just make clear to them donors they can continue donating, but they will not be honored in any future DAC’s with anything more than 1%... as this is the social consensus…

Social contract says 10%. Folks donating to AGS after the Fe. 28 snapshot also see the potential of other DACs. The person who promised us something is on track to deliver more than promised over the next few months. I, for one, will continue donating as I want shares in those new DACs, too. Call me stupid, but Bitshares Me, Music, DNS, Insurance, Lotto, etc.  look freakin awesome.

"The popular cryptocurrency trading site Cryptsy.com has been having some noticeable issues these past few hours. Users of Cryptsy have been reporting negative balances, frozen transfers, suspended withdrawals. Speculation is that a recent update is causing the issues. Cryptsy is aware of the issues, but no official statement has been released yet."
+5% thanks for the heads up... I was on moments ago and my NXT deposit is taking longer than usual to hit the radar.

If you notice this forum section "Alternate DACs"   is filled mostly with post with zero replies...  This section might be better served by a fuznuts mumble server channel, were ideas can be brainstormed live. Let me know if you interested, we could reach out to fuznuts together and collaborate..

Also Charles Evans and I are launching an incubator in Miami, we're always on the lookout for innovated projects with good Karma that pay dividends.

Thank you very much. Yes I would be interested! I believe that in order for my idea of a country coin to succeed it is essential to get on board a lot of Greek people who will believe in it's success and will be willing to spend much time into marketing the coin, get them out on the streets to educate and convince merchants to use it. In return these people will receive a small % of greekshares for their efforts and in the end of the day merchants will receive something for free that might gain value in the future. It is a win-win situation!

I think that the idea of a DAC with a common cause and with a profitable model will work. The difficult part is to explain to people this model. The few Greek people who deal with cryptocurrencies are stuck with the mining no mining coins. When I allocate them to AGS funding and try to explain the model all they see is a falling stock... People really don't understand DACs yet...  :(

I suspect once the Bitshares Toolkit is further evolved, tested and documented with examples, tutorials, etc... we can then get on with the task of envisioning, modeling and launching 3rd party profitable/self sustaining DACs as this ...

Pardon my candor,

Management by committee sucks and by forum outright lunacy.

I would assume each project team has a project plan and I3 has a strategy for orchestrating the various projects. We can cheer, hoot and holler all day here on the forum, at best we provide ideas, sentiment and information. But, we do not are should we drive the plan, that is best left to the planners and system architects.

As an investor, I put my faith in the organization and to a lessor degree the community. Communities can raise a barn in a weekend, not build complex financial systems. We in the community can best support the organization by:

Starting complementary projects of our own that honor the AGS/PTS contract
Continuing to invest in AGS/PTS
Fill openings in existing projects when available
Educate the greater community
Be good community citizens by helping selflessly

And yes, open source projects can build very complex systems organically over long periods of time. But, this is a different animal, part open source and part commercial enterprise. Don't try to apply old school familiar rules. This is a, classic Black Swan (oxymoron, btw).

I am wondering as to why no one has commented on this... Is my idea not going to work and I shouldn't bother to do something like this?

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: Quick update regarding lack of updates
« on: April 17, 2014, 01:19:15 am »
Hey everyone.

Just a quick update on the front-end project.

Eddie Corral and I are setting up a business that will create a website/social network that will be a mash up of:
-Pandora
-8tracks
-grooveshark
-the itunes store
-kickstarter

This will also allow you to buy and sell shares of individual songs. So add to that little list, a trading platform for digital shares of songs.

The reason we haven't updated... at all, is that we are still hammering out the vision and intricate details of not only the site, but of the legal structure and business plan.

We will update ONCE we have everything set up and ready to rock.

As for Zenithcoin, forget about that. It will have nothing to do with this project. We are rebranding and going to be using another method as far as funding goes.

Just a quick update.
What to take home from this little thread? When we have relevant news, you will know of it. Until then....

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: Zenith Music Exchange
« on: April 17, 2014, 01:17:08 am »
Eddie is not any coin.  He has been a voting member of the Academy of Music for over a decade.  He has access to all the big record labels.  He can put together deals that compete with iTunes.  He has and can sign artists.  It is he who will supply the stream of new talent for people to trade.

Eddie IS this business.

...and he gave us half.
+5%  Sounds very promising... a little preemptive PR and we're good to go.

General Discussion / Re: Meeting with Virginia Tech
« on: April 16, 2014, 12:24:20 am »
I have had some very productive meetings with (Virginia Tech) VT and the results could be very good for our community.

1) They are looking into producing a Crypto-Equity Curriculum
2) They are sponsoring startups and have a team looking to find a transparent voting solution (they will likely be directed toward BitShares Voice).

I cannot reveal all of the details right now, but it looks like VT may become a very strategic partner.

Hope that 3I face up to this investment sincerely, we don't want this evolved into an irreparable scam.
希望3I正视这场投资,我们都不希望这演变成一场无法收拾的骗局。

hansonwcn, I understand you are upset and frustrated.

In the ideal world all projects proceed in a predictable straight line, resources would be readily available and deliverable arrive on-time exceeding expectations.

But, we all chose to tread into new territory where the rewards could be great, fully aware of the risks. The best we can do as an investor is to support the various teams as best we can.

Rest well and know that your investment is in good hands.

Unimerico - so on point tho.  it will soon be time to hunt.  Let's call this a dev fund and hash out a strategic plan.

To your point also, airdrops should be strategic too.

+5% Agreed

74
At that point why not just call it a dev fund instead of an airdrop

Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
+5% yes, it serves as a dev fund and anything that benefits the new DAC and PTS/AGS holders

75
IMHO, Airdrops as proposed here and elsewhere are mostly misguided.

Failing restaurants, clubs, etc... Will opt to give away their product via groupons and all you can eat/drink specials. This type of shotgun/Hail Mary marketing is wasteful.

For a high percentage shot you need to research, aim and fire. I propose a "Strategic Targeted Airdrop":

Find specific much more vertical pockets/communities.
Find specific brick and mortar companies and merchants...
Find specific high profile individuals, celebrities, political and business figures, etc...
Solicit endorsements
pay for spokesmen
buy celeb tweets
etc...

Imagine a hospital with poor occupancy, should they give away services? or give shares/equity to doctors that will bring paying patients.

Should the fledgling restaurant give away food, drop prices and quality or partner with event planners and caterers?

An Airdrop implies and in effect picks a general area, drops something of value, people then randomly scavenge. often the early arrivers hoard or go back to the village and gouge those to weak to reach the drop zone.

Instead, I propose we:

Solicit the already vested Bitshares community to nominate worthy recipients.

Recipients must add value to the BitShares community:

Developers
Social media giants
Related community leaders
News worthy charities

This may sound calculating, slightly Machiavellian and not very altruistic , it is and yes it's not. This is business not charity. But in the end it allows us to continue our mission which is worthy and does serve the greater good.

Giveaways are for charity (swag at best) this is business, we behave accordingly or pay the consequences.
