I'm getting the same things as cassiopaia in Firefox on Ubuntu 13.10. It works in Chrome, though.

Can BTS DNS be used for websites that promote terrorism, money laundering, hacking, child pornography, dogs & cats sleeping together, whatever the Outrage of the Week is on Fox/MSNBC?

The choice of 38,888,888 or 888,888,888 would be attention-grabbing. Look at how much virtual ink has been spilled debating the relevance of 21 million bitcoins.

Also, the observations above about numbers in Chinese culture should not be ignored.

death-sickness-zero-zero-zero-zero-zero-zero would be bad marketing.

Considering that Dan coined the term DAC and that it is widely used by people, many of whom are unfamiliar with BitShares, I'd vote for homesteading .dac .

Although most everyone here understands what true p2p means, that term has been around for many years, and it often is used to refer to systems that are p2bottleneck2p. It's lost its purity through misuse.

Initially the novelty of a distributed alternative to the status quo.

Registering domain names for BitShares DACs, shares of which trade on a distributed market seems to be a likely early use.

Proof of ownership is public key encryption / signatures.   That can be done anonymously.

It still needs a better acronym.

It's starting out pretty harsh.

Edit: It started out pretty harsh, but got better as more commenters chimed it.

I believe the intent is to announce full details at the Miami conference, end of the month.

How did that go?

Were Dan's questions ever addressed with specificity?

Ether is not as inherently deflationary as Bitcoin for example.

Bitcoin is not deflationary. It currently is inflationary to the tune of 12% per year. If ether is not as deflationary as Bitcoin, which is inflationary, then how inflationary is it?

Maybe someone in marketing can do something with this.

The big use for this that I see is selling stock in a company. This would make issuing stock much easier for smaller businesses, allowing them to generate capital through crypto-currencies with minimal difficulty

And, if not stock, then debt.  A zero-coupon bond is a promise to pay X units of currency on a given future date. The market determines the price, and the return is calculated from the other three variables.
