When will I get around to telling someone that I appreciate and enjoy "Beyond Bitcoin"?

Hola Count of La Mancha!
Hola JoeyD!

I'd imagined the Count of La Mancha reading replies to this thread and wondering if people had realised the association.
I've never read the book myself, perhaps I should?

It would be funny if other characters from the tale popped up on the forum. Especially if they all acted in character!

To the Count himself - I wonder, do you have a related Keyhotee ID too?

Hola Count of La Mancha! I assume everyone else realises the link between "Count of La Mancha" and Don Quixote (and Keyhotee)?

Does bitcoin support cross chain trading yet?   If not we need a mining pool to add support.

I'm not very technically minded, but is this relevant?

Let’s Talk Bitcoin Episode 99 – Sidechain Innovation
I understand this to be about adding many sidechains alongside the original Bitcoin blockchain. Bitcoins can be moved between chains using a two-way peg. Each sidechain can be optimised for different purposes and may compete on features.

This seems to me to have have profound consequences.

The duck idea is good in that it can be applied across the board with DACs.

"donKEY ID" is still my suggestion. I don't think it's as stupid as I first thought in a previous post.

"donKEY ID" sounds very much like "Don Quixote" (from whom Keyhotee derives it's name).
Just try saying the two aloud.

donKEY ID is easy to remember, it's two syllables, it contains the "key" element, it's logo friendly, it sounds like Don Quixote...

I've not thought much about how to arrange the upper and lower case lettering though.

Will the name appeal to the owner of the previous post - donkeypong!?

There's another option as well as browser and plug-in.
Have you seen how MeowBit works for .bit websites?
Install it on Windows (as well as namecoin wallet) and it works for all(?) browsers.

This idea may sound stupid at first, but bear in mind that people can quickly become accustomed to a company or product name.

DonKey

Named after Don Quixote, DonKey carries all the tools you'll need to protect your ID and communications as you ride around the internet.
With DonKey ID there's no need to use loads of passwords or to rely on trust. DonKey ID will protect you with honor and courage.
When it comes to your internet ID and communications DonKey can easily carry the load......blah blah blah

I think this sounds stupid.

I'd still use DonKey Mail though

462
There are a lot of great ideas here that have great merit.

I would hate to lose the subtle deeper meanings behind the choice of Don Quixote as a hero for whom honor and courage outweighed the inherent dangers of the quest.

OK. How about DonKeyBit?
 :P

Sorry...

Keyhotee / Re: Keyhotee - Rebranding
« on: March 24, 2014, 10:52:05 pm »
BitKey is interesting; a great allegory for unlocking access to a secure space:

Keyhotee ----> BitKey

Keyhotee ID ----> BitKey ID.

I think KeyMail and KeyID are catchy:

Keyhotee ----> KeyMail

Keyhotee ID ----> KeyID

That said, my vote still runs with bit-something. There is just too much momentum/value in attaching to the bit-space.

I like BitKey with BitKey ID, BitKey Mail, etc.

I Also thought of:

KeySet could contain KeyID, KeyMail, etc.

or

BitSet with BitID, BitMail, etc.

or

AngelSet with AngelID, AngelMail, etc.

or

BitAngel with BitID, BitMail, etc. (if "Bitangel" doesn't collide with "Bitangels")

Keyhotee / Re: When will free Identity registration start?

I think a good way for Invictus to capture additional fundraising would be to allow the purchase of something akin to "AngelID's" for Keyhotee ID's.

This could allow those who missed the initial Founder period to be able to obtain a custom ID before mining begins.

I suggest that these ID's carry some identification and other benefits beyond that of mined ID's, but maybe not with as many benefits as the Founder ID's.

Differences from Founder ID's:

1. They have already missed out on the gifted Founder AGS.

2. Different colored names (maybe Platinum or Gold for Founders, Silver for Angels)

3. Include AngelID's in the Exodus block, Founder's in the Genesis block (is this possible?)

Edit: Also - advertise this availability on LTB network and other bitcoin / DAC friendly avenues.

Very good idea.  It would also bring in more funds for AngelShares, not to mention it would being in a second rush of individuals who would have been interested in founder ID's in the first place but, due to a severely limited marketing campaign, did not even hear about the founder ID's until after it was over.

Good idea.

I'd be happy with this. I didn't find enough spare time last year to do due diligence with respect to becoming a founder, so I didn't take action before the deadline.
The problem would be in finding a way to do this without upsetting the founders!

KeyID / Re: TLD discussion
« on: March 23, 2014, 01:14:27 pm »
If BitShares DNS is to be adopted as widely as possible it must feel like it is unbranded, global and for the use of everyone. For this reason "bts" is an unsuitable name for the TLD. To someone browsing "bts" websites, it could seem like being in a small, restricted, proprietary corner of the internet.

It is necessary to sacrifice BitShares brand awareness in favour of the wider adoption which may arise from using a TLD which sounds more far reaching and all inclusive (such as "p2p"). If DNS systems are created by many other parties using various blockchains, we want ours to come across not as one of many brand options, but as the new adopted standard.

Does anyone think it's worth considering a re-branding of "BitShares DNS" itself? Imagine an average person or business wanting a domain with all the advantages offered by blockchain technology.
Would they, for example, rather give their money to "BitShares DNS", "Peer-2-peer DNS" or "Open DNS"? I'm not sure...
