Could have increased the TTL so that it the old dns stayed alive until the transfer was complete. (for future reference)

Transfer took place a month ago, godaddy just decided to reject it.   If anything this reflects a poor decision to use godaddy.

Ouch. I have never ran into that before. Of course, I've never transferred from GoDaddy to Amazon. Was there a technical/financial reason for this? I only ask cause the company I work for manages clients at a national level that use GoDaddy.

General Discussion / Heads Up for PTS on Cryptsy
« on: August 18, 2014, 06:30:57 pm »
Don't wait till the last day of the snapshot to withdraw your pts. You may not get it out in time. I have been waiting a few days on mine to withdraw. I opened a ticket and they confirmed they are working on it. I am sure you will have problems if you wait too long.

The problem here is the marketing style. Everybody is used to seeing grass roots marketing because that has traditionally been the only way that people hear about something in regards to crypto currency. Brian has identified this as an "alternative" method of marketing and is not focusing on this. There is nothing to measure besides the small things you can see because the things he is working on takes time.

What does this mean? A group of people need to pull together to do the traditional grass roots marketing found on EVERY coin forum. Otherwise, we will just have to wait for the items that Brian is working on which may be a while.

I learned more about bitshares on the overstock website then I ever did sifting through bitshares forums. Weird.

EDIT: This was not a good way to say this. I'm working on not being so blunt. What I meant to say was that the information is easier to access on their website.

I installed 32bit/64bit binaries. Re-installed after deleting app data. Still crashed.

Did you restarted the system? if you have old 0.2.2 version installed, try run the command line version bitshares_client.exe, locates on same dir as BitSharesX.exe.
you must run bitshares_client.exe from the CMD, so we can see the error message.

Happy to report working after install and reboot!!!! How come this wallet requires the open ssl install?

hopefully they implement this fix into the client soon...it's quite annoying not being able to access one's own funds (especially after months and months of waiting)

agreed.

If only windows users were able to access the system. Seeing as microsoft is the most widely used OS, I'm sure once windows user can access bitshares x this will clear up. Till then, enjoy.

My primary wallet is running just fine on Windows 8.1.

Several people have complained about windows 7. I have tried on two seperate computers. Event viewer errors and full blow debug has been posted. The problem is real.

Can somebody explain what this means?

I get the same thing. I can see it in windows event viewer.

I tested on two completely different workstations that were windows based. Failed on both......Guess you have to be on an OS other than windows to actually use btsx.

(This post may need to be moved at this point)

I definitely don't deny the effort put into updating people via bitcointalk forum. However, we definitely need to utilize more avenues of media. If you look at top 100 companies you will find that they put their name on everything humanly possible. The reason for this is because they have identified that different people receive messages in different ways. It is impossible to capture your entire audiance in just a few methods.

I plan to update this thread once the skype meeting with Brian has concluded. It is not scheduled yet as it is on me to come up with an agenda for the meeting. I am working on this.
