General Discussion / Re: A New Proposal of Interest for BitUSD Holders
« on: August 30, 2014, 02:52:30 am »
I am not hardcore on forex trading BUT, I did read where interest rates were part of the equation for controlling currency prices. Monetary theory? Would be nice to have that in bit currencies.

I know I have more trust in hedging into a decentralized exchange then into a centralized exchange where all my funds can be stolen by hackers. I think that people undervalue security and the skills of hackers. There are very few if any websites that can't be hacked. I really think there are none but there is only one way to prove that so I can't state that as a fact.

EDIT: Once bit(whatever) can be converted to the real version 1:1 we will be in the money.

I don't understand that math behind determining the bitusd value. I do understand trends which is how I have been trading bitusd successfully. I have stopped trading it since you all helped me to realize that the peg is not working currently.

Side Note: I think a feed in the client stating how much bitsud is vs a dollar would be extremely helpful. It would potentially guide others towards trading it closer to the dollar value.

Then why would the range be way below 38? I would think the safeguard would be trying to get the price in line. Instead it is not allowing a short above 30ish.

bitusd is about to go crazy because people are unable to short it....This is stupid. I want to short at 38 for the reversal but I can't because it is "outside the range." This safeguard is making bitusd stupid high.

I did not leave it in long enough to know if a force sell is made. I had to manually cover my short with bitusd that I had to buy at a price higher than the original short.

nvm. I figured it out! For those that want to test it out this is what you do

Step 1) pick a price that you think it will continue down from.  If you think price of one bitshare will go down from the current price of 22.00bitusd then place short at 22bitusd per btsx
Step 2) Place a buy order where you think it will stop going down. If you think it wont go down past 19bitusd then place buy at 19bitusd
Step 3a) If you were right and you bought at 19bitusd then you cover you short position that started at 22bitusd and profit!!!
Step 3b) If you were wrong and you want out then you need to buy at the higher price and cover your bitusd :(:(:(:(:(

Finding this out only cost me 1,000btsx. Hopefully this saves somebody from losing more!!!

Hello,

I placed a short on bitusd. I would like to cancel/cover the short but it says I have insufficient funds. I have 122,000 btsx. The shorts are a total of 18,000 btsx. How can I cover/cancel the short?

Short   21.15   420.5001   8,893.57712
Short   21.20   500.00   10,600.00

I've been apart of companies in crypto that wanted to add "bank" in the name. What they found is that there were too many legal and regulatory road blocks.

That's for bter to know. It is how they can provide value over other exchanges.

Even for those that do speak English it is very difficult to understand. (I still think this is on purpose.) Owning btsx before/on/after 8/21 means nothing. Owning angelshares/pts means that you will get a % of dns/voting dacs when they are released. You must have pts in your local wallet or on an exchange that will honor it for you.

I finally got my pts after 2 tickets, 3 days, and spamming trade chat to warn others. If you have not withdrawn your pts from Cryptsy yet then you may miss the snapshots on the 21st.

Yep, Godaddy is horrible.  I use them for a few domains, but standard .com/.net/.org I now use namesilo which is much better.  Free privacy and you're not going to get a call by some Godaddy buffoon trying an upsell every 6 months.

I wouldn't be surprised if Godaddy didn't decide to make a policy to not transfer private domains just so people couldn't maintain their anonymity and leave Godaddy.  Just as a way to forcing people to stay with them.  They really are that horrible.

Those sound like minor inconveniences. Not something I would cause downtime for. If the transfer was for nothing more than preference then that is fine. I was just curious if there were any real advantages of amazon.
