BitShares PTS / Re: Question about PTS snapshot on 8/21
« on: August 20, 2014, 06:56:53 pm »
If I sent now PTS to an exchange will they be there before the snapshot?
How much hours it takes in average the last 2-3 days to get to the recipient?

i just sent some from Poloniex to my home wallet.  The PTS arrived home within minutes.   Not sure about it going the other way, since the exchanges don't credit your account until the designated number of confirmations are achieved, but it shouldn't be too long.  maybe 30 minutes?  pretty sure it would be under an hour. Just to be safe, i'd get my PTS to where it needs to go for snapshot credit, well before the deadline.

So is there a functional windows 7 wallet as yet?

this^

Latest version should work. See http://wiki.bitshares.org/index.php/Bitshares-x-how-to and http://wiki.bitshares.org/index.php/BitShares_X_Solutions to get started.

thanks guys.  very happy to finally see something come of this.  the future is looking very bright.

BTSX wallet and import tutorial worked fine for me on Windows 8.1.  Should install easily on Win7.

Nifty wallet, great job!!

Just 1 small thing--- i would like to see source code for a Linux wallet that actually built a working wallet.   I have a Debian 7 box specifically for my wallets, and the BTSX wallet was too convoluted for me to get compiled.  I have about 70 other wallets on this box, so the request and issues aren't coming from a linux nub.  I guess my problem lies with this wallet being built with cmake, as opposed to qmake like all of my other wallets.  Forcing me to get cmake working, as my being stumped and giving up, is not in my DNA.  lol

haha.  i just had to get the correct version of cmake installed.  duh.  had 2.8.9, and need to be at 2.8.12 or higher.  easy enough to fix.  building cmake now....... so far, so good.  i'm one of those weirdos that likes watching packages compile in a terminal window.

any updates on BTS-X?  sucks to sit here watching the value of my PTS fall further with every passing week.  Be nice to know there is some sort of light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks for part of the answer guys.

This is why there is not more support for PTS, and no big jump in price before the snapshot, it is just too much work to figure out what is going on.

There are also lots of unanswered questions about todays event on the Reddit thread.

An official post with clear instructions both here and at reddit would be appropriate and is expected.

good to know i'm not the only one wondering where these magical BTS X shares come from or go to, or what is going on with this, besides the prices of PTS dropping by half.

if i understand this correctly, nothing about where i am to receive these new shares has been released yet?  or did i miss that part?  I've been trying to figure this whole PTS/BTS/BTS-X thing out, and still dont have a clear understanding.  I imagine i am not alone in this cluelessness.

try something like this:

 cd ProtoShares

qmake bitshares-pts.pro

make

after the make, you should get a whole bunch of stuff that runs for a few minutes.  may ned to run it with sudo,  like: sudo make

this method always works better fo rme than the way you tried.
