General Discussion / Re: Bitshares price discussion

Just don't margin long anything that you can't afford to lose.  We need to keep our bts in the hands of those of us that love bts.  All the dumpers that have been crapping all over us don't see the same value in bts that us true believers do.

Great initiative.  Let me know if there is any way I can assist.

Did you sell OPEN.BTC or OPENBTC?  Its a pretty crappy situation that I have to ask.  I don't see any OPENBTC transactions since 3-18

Technical Support / help with faucet
« on: March 21, 2016, 08:24:50 pm »
Hey everyone.  I have a webwallet and faucet set up at https://dele-puppy.com.  I cannot get referral links to work properly.  My faucet will register new accounts just fine, but adding the ?r=account-name doesn't seem to make a difference in the new account.  I am not looking to get into the faucet business or to compete with OL at all.  I am running both the wallet and the faucet as a service for the community.  The wallet is based in San Francisco and seems to offer better performance to some in our community.  The faucet can be used as a backup when OL is not functioning.  When I attempt to register a new account with https://dele-puppy.com/?r=dele-puppy my production log shows

my faucet.yml is
Code: [Select]
cli_wallet_connection: ws://localhost:8099
registrar_account: dele-puppy-reg
referrer_percent: 80
refcode_prefix: F01

default_url: localhost
default_port: 3000

  exception_recipients: admin@example.com

smtp:
  address: address
  user_name: user
  password: password

Any idea what is preventing referrals fAny more information that could help figure this out?  It is not really an important issue.  As I said I don't really want lots of people using my faucet unless absolutely needed.  I am a noob at the running a website thing, and would like to learn more though.

Thanks.

Building in Release.

Are you building 2.0.160316?

If so, there was an issue, the new one is 2.0.160316b.

Still, you should probably wait for a new release for API servers to fix an issue that seems to cause some crash

Any update on this api build before I update dele-puppy.com

I am also in agreement with karnal.  I think we should start calling UIA's trust based assets.  Theres nothing wrong with trust based assets.  I think smartcoins are much better though.  The issue is that we don't have nearly enough users willing to short these smartcoins into existence.  Side chains will help alleviate this issue, but I think we should also be providing interest to those willing to lock up their bts to create smartcoins.  I think shorting is currently under incentivized.

290 sats you say!!!!

looks like its actually 300.  As much as I might like to believe that this whale meant to type in 3000, and will come back in a few minutes to remedy his mistake, I think a far more likely scenario is that he is attempting to manipulate us.

About 600btc of it is around 290 sats though.

I think this is a great idea.  If you need a US based individual to put stuff on a credit card let me know.

Is this an old bts wallet?  If so this should work for you.

Damn, never thought syscoin would trade higher than BTS lol
That should get some motivation

What do you mean?  Our market cap is more than 5X theirs.
I was referring to per coin price. Yea our cap is larger, but sys always stayed around the 200 satoshi, 700-800 with last week's pump. Now its broke 1400. .

It's too bad.  They could have put that front end on bts for quite a bit less, and had a much  better product.

ETH tanks hard, causing BTS to tank hard.

ETH goes back up, BTS doesnt.

:(

Yeah BTS is the only crypto where its cool to sell the rumor and the news.

Dex working fine for me. Maybe just open ledger feeling it.

Dex is working great for me as well.  Even when I use OL as the endpoint.  Even if they attacked our 3 https api endpoints we could spin new ones up rather quickly.  An attack against witness nodes could cause some issues, but I think we could spin up new instances pretty quickly.
