General Discussion / Suggested changes to GUI
« on: August 28, 2014, 06:51:34 pm »
I am starting this thread so that we can have all the proposed changes to the GUI in one place. Lets try to stay on topic of GUI changes only. Anything that will help traders to home users, short and sweet so when the coders only have one eye open they can still read our proposed changes ;D.

Filters for asset list----------volume, highest price, alphabetical,
Favorite asset list------------recent market is great but you can remove assets you only checked out once
Price feeds---------------------I know some are against this, my answer is at least make it a option to have or remove it.
Troll box------------------------not a fan but many are so add it and let it be a option to remove it
Announcements box---------These are message's from bitshares everything from new version out to showing asset markets that are hott (+ or - 25-40%.....random figures)

General Discussion / payment gateway to bter-EgoPay, contact made
« on: August 28, 2014, 04:29:29 pm »
Bter seams to be super responsive and very will to work with bitshares and btsx. So I started looking around to see what bter's preferred way to receive USD $ is and which brought me to EgoPay

I sent them this:

bitUSD is a digital asset from bitshares(btsx)(http://bitshares.org/) that is pegged to the price of a USD. We are currently looking for gateway's to convert bitUSD to USD and USD to bitUSD. Bitshares has a market cap of 72 million at the moment. Bter.com is the echange of choice for many traders bitshares(btsx) and bitUSD(they accept both). You are the major gateway for this exchange. If you would make bitUSD a option would be the number one and currently ONLY gateway for btsx and bitUSD. This could fulfill and need for us, and you are partnered with one of the biggest exchanges that we are traded on. Please consider and feel free to ask any questions you feel are warranted.Thank you for your time

To be honest I didn't really expect anything out of it but hey why not and well we do have a need for this.
Below is the response I got back

Hello,
I am Arthur, the CMO and official representative of EgoPay. To begin with, I would like to thank you for your interest into EgoPay as e-payment system.
I have read your proposal and the description of the situation but I still have broad questions for you that cannot be answered in ticket system very fastly.

You can reach me by:
email:
skype:                 (preferably)
Mobile:

When you will invite me, I'd like to analyze situation much deeper and figure out how we can help to each other to grow.

Regards,
Arthur

This guy wants to meet on skype and seems very interested, since I am not a official rep and to be blunt, he is probably going to ask me things that I don't have the answer too I think it may be better option to tunr this over to someone from I3. Who knows this could be a payment processor that we can use to directly cash in and out of bitUSD or even better get them involved so they can convert some holdings to bitUSD.
(I left his contact info out but will share it with anyone from I3 that wants to take this from here)

Marketplace / bitUSD for prepaid visa gift cards, interest?
« on: August 27, 2014, 06:27:01 pm »
100$----- increments only
bitUSD--- only
100$ card for 115 bitUSD + actual shipping(physical cards)

escrow is fine but you pay any escrow fee. Trusted forum members only

Would there be any interest?

Thought it would be a easy way to allow people to cash out and let me earn some bitUSD without selling my precious btsx

Thoughts?

General Discussion / the asset list........
« on: August 27, 2014, 05:33:41 pm »
I love seeing that huge asset list under the markets tab but I think it would be great if perhaps a second volume was created on that page that listed the assets by volume or a filter. Right now their are so many assets listed that aren't even active that it seams silly to just click each one. A filter would allow traders to quickly see where volume is and were it isn't.

General Discussion / The 3 grey circles......[resolved]
« on: August 26, 2014, 08:18:07 pm »
I have opened and closed my client many times now but whenever I go to btsx:bitUSD market I get

It doesn't go away and if I hit the back button the screen changes but the grey dots stay their. If I try viewing a different market nothing happens when you click it.

Has this replaced the insufficient feeds text? Is their a way to get them to go away other then restarting the client? Any thing I can do on my end to avoid it as it's getting frustrating?

General Discussion / bitUSD price
« on: August 23, 2014, 02:09:58 pm »
I want to make sure I understand this price correctly before we start trading on Monday so please tell me if my math is correct. Please understand I have no trading experience other then a quick read of some definitions and I have no real intention of going short or long because I don't understand it well enough.

Here is a capture of the current market

The first buy order is for, Short   0.008898,   224,762.00019,   2,000.0000

So this person wants to buy bitUSD at a price of .008898 btsx each. At the current market price of .0000529 per btsx and a current btc price of 507.29 that gives us a fiat value of 0.026835641 per share of btsx.

224,762.00019btsx *.0000529 btsx per btc=11.88990981 btc=6031.63 fiat value=3.015815 fiat price per share of bitUSD

I know I have to be missing something here. Is this person just trying to get the first bitUSD? What are ways they can profit when paying 3.015815 fiat for 1 bitUSD.
(*I think I see it, They are betting there will be a massive drop in the price of btsx) If this is their play how do you figure out how much of a drop they need to profit.  Why not just sell btsx on the exchange and get 11.88990981 btc then convert to fiat and have 6031.63? Whats could be the possible motivation for  buying bitUSD at roughly 3 times the price of fiat?

I am sure the above will seem obvious to actual traders so dumb it down for me. I don't really want to day trade but I do like having a basic understanding why things are happening. Thanks

(P.S, for the love of all things crypto we need to change USD to bitUSD.)

General Discussion / When will pegging start?
« on: August 22, 2014, 03:16:48 pm »
I understand that at least 51 delegates need to have feeds for pegging to start but what do these delegates need to do to actually start it? Is their a way to see which delegates have feeds vs which ones don't?

Technical Support / insufficient feeds- USD:btsx
« on: August 21, 2014, 12:12:13 pm »

I have a insufficient feed error on my client for USD:btsx . My client is synced, I can see orders but I have not tried to bid or ask.
If I look at something like ROSE their is no problem.

Is this something I need to be worried about?

General Discussion / Public Marketing Fund(PMF) ideas, lets spitball
« on: August 20, 2014, 01:20:54 am »
The goal of this thread is to come up with the 5 best marketing ideas for the Public Marketing Fund(PMF).

We don't know the budget we have to work with but we should have roughly 40ish shirts to sell to get the fund started(10$ each+actual shipping)
If will sold all 40 shirts that leaves us with a working budget of roughly 400$. Not alot but I know many members have many cost effective ideas to spread the word in creative ways. My goal is to show people what we can do through simple spit balling followed by and vote. I believe if we can show measurable results that people with a bigger vested interest and delegates would choose to support this fund.

What I need from you......ideas, post them here and lets get started!!!

Oh and did I mention that I had planed on doing a single run out of my own pocket but because of I3's support. I will personally add 100$(in btc, dont want to give up my btsx)  to the PMF to get it started.

General Discussion / USDcoin anyone?
« on: August 17, 2014, 05:59:20 pm »
http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/news/usdcoin-may-become-reality-says-cryptolina-bitcoin-regulation-panel/2014/08/17

I found this to be a interesting article. While usdcoin would have many disadvantages as far as centralization and the fact that it is backed be a government that is trillions in debt.

It would have the advantage of well being backed by the gov and that tends to make most people feel, safer about it.

Who thinks they will actually release a gov backed coin? Will private companies be able to compete with digital gov backed coins? Would the masses accept a gov backed coin over a privately backed one?

BitShares AGS / 100btsx bounty for help importing ags dontation
« on: August 17, 2014, 05:48:05 pm »
Ok friends I give up and I need help importing my ags donation.
http://www1.agsexplorer.com/balances/1LbGS2DsMSVXme6iQtkwdekndQ1Vok7SQd this is my donation

I used electrum version 1.9.8. I have 2 wallet files I found the transaction in the wallet and checked the details and the same addy is listed that is listed in the block explorer(so I know I have the right one). I also imported both wallets but no change

When I import the wallet file into bitshares x it says that it was successful but I only have 1 transaction from genesis block and that was for my pts holdings. I was able to import the pts no problem. I can also provide screen shots to confirm everything I said. I am sure it is a mistake I am making on my end but I can not for the life of me figure out what it is.

First person that posts here whatever the missing piece is to this puzzle gets 100 btsx upon successful completion of me getting the 108,079.861715 BTSX that is shown on block explore. Thanks and good luck

Bitshare's Tee's and hoodies, Open call to have YOUR DAC listed on the back.
« on: Today at 08:58:57 PM »

I am preparing some mock-up tees on 8/11/14 and I wanted to put out a open call to list Current DAC's apart of the Bitshares
The DAC's will be listed on the back of the shirt under the 2 tone bitshare logo in a smaller font.
I will post the mock up publicly and run it through Brian once we have it done. Because not all DAC's have slogan's or logos I will not be adding them  so that the shirt jives. If any of the DAC's listed had a logo that they would like to include please also list in the off chance that everyone has a logo ready.

Current DAC's I have are
Bitshares X
followmyvote
Bitshares DNS
Bitshares Play (or whatever the new name will be once voting decides)

I know we are working on music, charities, insurance and some others but If they seem to early in development to have a "official" name to list them. If I am wrong on this PLEASE POST THEM AND LIST THEM HERE. Also if for any reason a DAC chooses not to want to be listed on the tee please let me know by pm and I will honor your wishes.

As the title of the thread suggests, I am applying for a delegate position. I have been a lurker on these forums pre feb 28th snapshot. I may not be very vocal but I keep a very close eye on the forums. I have at times been a harsh critic of I3 but that is only because I want the best for their products and the community that supports them.

I do not have the tech know how, so I have partnered with http://www.bitsuperlab.com/ for hosting. Even though my delegate is not yet even in the running for one of the 101 spots, bitsuperlab.gentso is up and running and just waiting to be voted up. I believe that instead of garnering votes, the first order of business is to make sure the technical stuff is in place and working. Besides, as a delegate, your main job is to stay up and running. So why not get running first to show commitment, then work on getting votes.

My pay rate is set at 100% but I will donate 10% of my pay towards marketing. I want to help create a buzz around btsx and, well...buzz costs money :). I have not decided 100% yet, but I will in all likely-hood pool this marketing money with another delegate.

Another difference between me and other delegates is that I believe in "one person, one delegate". I will go on the record as stating I will never run another delegate account because I believe 101 separate people is important for a decentralized system. I also believe in the product and personally own 6 figures of btsx along with some pts and ags.

System stats
The delegate is running on a vps on digital ocean, the system is

4GB ram   60GB hd    amsterdam

Back-up vps with the same system settings is also setup in a different location to insure up time.

And finally I would like to make a big shout out to HackFisher, alt and their team at Bitsuperlab. They have made this process easy and trouble free and have provided a great service to the community.

So remember.....................>> wallet_approve_delegate bitsuperlab.gentso true

                                                              Delegate approved.

General Discussion / I own PTS shares before the 28th so now what?
« on: February 28, 2014, 12:27:05 pm »
So I believe I have done everything right here, believe being the key word.

1. Put my money in bitshares over ethereum  :P
2. Purchased shares before the 28th
3. I am holding them in my own bitshares- pts wallet

Now if I am understanding the wealth of information on here that entitles me to to some bts.  I have downloaded the bitshares-pts wallet and I have been holding my pts there. Now what? Am I waiting for a wallet to be created for bts? Do I need to do anything at this point in order to receive my bts? The only info I found mentions a bts wallet set for creation around march, is that the next piece of the puzzle? Thanks for any and all help.

Now all the same questions but for AGS. Thanks for any help
