Most people agree in the thread agree it is hard to market something when there is no product available.
Possible stupid question but why not worry about hiring a full fledged marketing director ONCE a product is released?
On a side note http://www1.salary.com/Marketing-Director-Salary.html 127K is the median salary for his position.
I have no opinion on how good of a job he is doing because it goes back to that no product yet.
I also think that it's great that he is making contacts and busy drumming up investors but I feel that if more thought went into the products and less went into "fund raising" we may be better served.
I believe a good product will sell itself and a great marketing director will help you sell more of them but until products are released I3 could get the word out simply by buying ad space on various forums for next to nothing UNTIL a product is released and then hire Brian or whoever to help the idea reach more people.
Frankly I have seen the mood here on these forums go from geeky/nerdy/frothing at the mouth, to a now souring sentiment and people are looking to vent or blood (thats not to say that they don't have a point).
I would post a clever meme but all I think think of is the scene from the begining of Indaina Jones and the temple of doom where he is running from the natives yelling "start the plane, start the plane". We are of course the natives and Brian being indy and I suppose dan is the planes pilot.
Just my opinions so take them for what the are worth........

At what point do the dev's look at each other in the room and say, geez guys we have missed all of our deadlines and other competing companies are releasing products and gaining market traction. You can have the most revolutionary piece of tech but if you show up to the party after everyone leaves well you are just standing in a room by yourself saying, "hey everyone look at my great product".
OK, they're late, I get it. But the other 2.0's you mention have all been flawed. If Bitshares gets this right, it will trounce the "competition". I'd rather they get it right than hurry something that has to keep rebooting/retooling/remarketing itself each time it upgrades. The real party has not yet begun.
Do you think it is maybe a good idea to release a slightly flawed product and work out the bugs on the fly? The point I am trying to make is that if you wait too long and there are other products out there that do basically the same thing. That consumer's get used to using they will just stick with what they have been using even though there may be a better alternative.
I am a long term PTS holder and I believe in the company but I think not releasing a product when others in the same market are is a slippery slope. Look at gaming consoles, They are always released roughly around the same time of each other. If one company beats another to the market then that gives company a. traction with consumers. Now it does not always mean company a. will be better then company b. it just means they have a advantage that increases ever day.

If I would be one of the founder's or dev's of the project I wouldprobablyagree ... But I am not...
But even if I have the power to attract people or put them off because of my quotes... then I will probably use my talent more often

I like the way its currently done. As the above user posted you can choose which DACS you want a piece of. I am also a big fan of cheap PTS

I feel that bts-x is going to set the pace so to speak. If it is a great trouble free launch with a nice well working software then it only stands to reason that not only will it increase the value of bts-x but also increase the perceived value of future PTS.

I tried both, the one on beeeeer.org and the one on http://smab.ath.cx/pts_beeeeer/. I have double checked my address just in case I typed it wrong. Do I have to wait longer before the stats show? Or am I missing something? Thank you.
I think I just read that you have to get your first payment. So forget that I wrote this. If I am incorrect let me know.
Don't feel bad I just made the same mistake myself. But if the payment threshold is set for .1pts and you are a new miner using a i7, 93.6 c/m and running 4 threads is there any way to estimate when you might receive your first payout (just simply so I know I have done everything right). I am using ptsminer v.5 and it shows collision's being found and shares being submitted.

Don't worry about the quality of the video or the fact that you may not have looked the camera in the eye.
No one invested in pts or ags because they cared about how well you spoke in the video.
I personally thought it was a quick informal way, that didn't cost you and your team much time but also allowed you to get your point out

So I believe I have done everything right here, believe being the key word.
1. Put my money in bitshares over ethereum
2. Purchased shares before the 28th
3. I am holding them in my own bitshares- pts wallet
Now if I am understanding the wealth of information on here that entitles me to to some bts. I have downloaded the bitshares-pts wallet and I have been holding my pts there. Now what? Am I waiting for a wallet to be created for bts? Do I need to do anything at this point in order to receive my bts? The only info I found mentions a bts wallet set for creation around march, is that the next piece of the puzzle?Thanks for any and all help.
