Technical Support / Re: My BitShares-x account and BTSX disappeared
« on: September 22, 2014, 02:53:06 pm »
Thanks for the quick reply.  When I first opened it, it said there was an update available, and I clicked update.  I thought it updated, but I guess it didn't work.

Downloaded the latest version manually and my account is back.  It's re-downloading the whole block chain, but oh well...  at least I have my BTSX.

Technical Support / My BitShares-x account and BTSX disappeared
« on: September 22, 2014, 02:44:36 pm »
I went away for 10 days for work.  When I came back I tuned my computer on, launched bitshares-x.

My account and all of my btsx are missing!  WTF happened?

General Discussion / Re: Incomplete transaction history
« on: September 08, 2014, 05:34:18 pm »
Problem solved finally.  I had registered as a delegate, and that process turned off transaction scanning.

Transactions successfully rescanned by using

Code: [Select]
wallet_set_transaction_scanning true
The transactions show up now

General Discussion / Incomplete transaction history [RESOLVED]
« on: August 26, 2014, 03:10:41 pm »
On Mac OS 10.9.  BitShares-X 0.4.8-a

On "My Accounts", under the "Recent Transactions" section, it says "Updating transaction history..." in green.

At the bottom right of the window is says "transaction scanning progress is -100%"

The most recent transaction is missing from the list, but the balance for my account is correct.

Technical Support / Re: BitShares-X hangs while opening on Mac

Dang... I thought we fixed this particular issue.  We will try to replicate it.

If it helps, here is exactly what I did to make it happen.

App was running normally.
I clicked the red button to close the window.
Dialog box came up saying something like "have to use Quit from menu to really quit, app will keep running in background".
I clicked OK.  (I did not click "don't warn me again)

At this point I forget.  Either the app just crashed, or I click the icon in the dock and it crashed.

Next time I opened the app I got the gui bug.

After playing with it some more, it seems to be just the gui that is hanging.

I was able to use the Accounts menu, and also Command+Shift+A to go to the Accounts screen. but the "scanning transactions - 100%, please wait..." is still there.

The only gui controls that work are the ones across the top... Lock, Transfer and Add Contact.

The screen looks like this...

After Entering my password, the screen says...

"Scanning transactions - 100%, please wait"

It never gets any farther.

The app crashed just before this started happening.  here is the most recent crash log.

Technical Support / Re: Full node port forwarding
« on: August 22, 2014, 06:14:20 pm »
The P2P code tries to use UPNP, but we have not yet made it robust enough to handle all port-forwarding cases.   The port number is 1776 if you want to try it.

That worked.  Forwarded port 1776 and now I have 18 network connections.

I guess BitShares-X works like Bitcoin?  If you only have 8 connections you are only downloading and not seeding?

Stakeholder Proposals / So I created a delegate...
« on: August 22, 2014, 06:09:20 pm »
My Delegate name is Idealist.

I believe blockchains have the potential to fix some of the fundamental flaws in our society.
Am I supposed to create some kind of campaign to get people to vote for my delegate now?

I'm really interested in learning more about BitShares-X.   Can anyone point me to some good (up to date) info about being a delegate and what it means exactly?

I've been a bitcoin user since 2010 and have been running a full bitcoin node for a long time, but I finally got BitShares-X running today, and it is some next level blockchain innovation!

Exciting times we live in!

Even though I bought them on the 28th?  bummer  :(

Time zone was PST.

I imported my private keys from Bitshares-pts, but only 2 out of my 3 pts purchases came through...  I bought an extra 7.8 pts on the 28th to get in on the snapshot, at a really high price I might add...

how do I get the rest of my bitshares?  I should have twice as much as I do in my wallet...

EDIT: Was there a cutoff time on the 28th?  My understanding was that the end of the day on the 28th was the snapshot...

I only have 8 connections to the network, I'm assuming I need to set up port forwarding.

What port does the BitShares-X client use?
