It will have to be in a hard fork, and we may only allow changing some of the parameters.   The goal is to minimize fraud caused by changing the description of the asset.

I believe we will allow users to edit the information provided they have not issued any yet.    So if you would like to update your asset, don't issue them and then the hardfork will be easier.

This would be very very great. I have created an asset but the UI errors (v1.0) then I used the console to create one, it worked fine but I haven't input the correct parameter on the number and description. I haven't issue any assets yet. I will wait for the update.

Wallet UI will be fixed for next release, so it will be clear for new assets.
Sometime in the future we will allow assets with 0 current supply to have the precision/supply adjusted.
Do not use this post as information for making any important decisions. The only agreements I ever make are informal and non-binding. Take the same precautions as when dealing with a compromised account, scammer, sockpuppet, etc.

There are two threads on this... I answered this in another thread.

Hi BM, can I modify the asset information (ie. total supply ) after creating it?

Especially, since according to toast it was something that was supposed to be fixed and apparently it wasn't fixed for the
bit BTSX debut. The way it is presented when you create the an asset is not clear.

Thanks xeroc, I just found your "Free" asset:

Code: [Select]
ID    SYMBOL NAME                    DESCRIPTION                                     ISSUER                          ISSUED    SUPPLY
===========================================================================================================================================================
27    FREE   Free                    Free as in beer                                 xeroc                           100.00 %  100,000,000,000,000. FREE

So as it says they are 100% issued, that means that they dont come into existance by the buy & short mechanism?

What are you going to do with those FREE units ?

Sorry for all the questions today...

Do user-created assets get removed after a while if there is no market interest? What if someone creates an asset called BitSpam ?

User-issued assets are not BitAssets. Users can "make" BitAssets, but BitAssets without significant market depth do not trade.

Thanks for the response, but what kind of things/concepts do users issue as assets? Is there a list somewhere of user-issued assets vs BitAssets ?

A few minutes ago, creating an asset cost me 100BTSX, now it's 246BTSX,  why is that and what's the rule?

BTW, it seems that I can not create any asset, so it's not like Bitshares ME?
Thanks

Now it is 76,700 BTSX to create an asset. Wow that has gone up fast.

and now it costs 150,451.25760 BTSX to create an asset

I think I'm going to create an asset or two then and maybe even a prediction that people can trade on. :)

Right, I guess I just don't understand the economic aspect of it. Ok so by creating an asset what is in it for you and how do you make money as the issuer of the asset.

Once you have a token, it can be traded (in theory) and can be made valuable by the person creating it.  Like our LTBcoin rewards program, which you can read about at http://ltbcoin.com
