Before DNS dies it can still give!

DNS is now trading at an 8% discount to snapshot worth! Go get some!

Thank you toast for all your effort on this project, the greater project, and mostly your efforts in trying to make DNS holders whole again. Taking ownership of this issue shows real integrity.

Anyone can be a great person in the good times; it's in the rough patches the people with real integrity and good character shine.  +5%

Is there going to be a new genesis block for BTS?
From what I understand there will be a SECOND genesis block hardcoded and accepted by the client ..

Would this allow for fixes to messed up founder keys?

Probably not unfortunately.
But at this rate it seems like some sort of global account fix is inevitable. Most likely it will be in the form of an upgrade to a new and improved name system.
Do not use this post as information for making any important decisions. The only agreements I ever make are informal and non-binding. Take the same precautions as when dealing with a compromised account, scammer, sockpuppet, etc.

For those who never claimed their stake, how will it work? Would they still be able to claim it in the new system?

Yep, in that case you'd just import whatever wallets you were supposed to import into DNS to begin with.

Is there going to be a new genesis block for BTS?

Let me join my voice in saying thank you Toast for all that you did, and please go kick ass with the whole BitShares team, reunited :)

I was kind of excited to see BitSharesDNS stand on its own, but I understand the situation, and if there's something that I have noticed with all I3 guys but also other people revolving around them is that they are able to adapt quickly to the ever-changing requirements and landscape in crypto-world.

Sometimes it takes balls to make some big sweeping changes, instead of just hiding behind old promises that turn out to be detrimental to the future of a project, and I'm glad to see that people in this community are still able to have vision and do what it takes to execute it. Do not pay attention to the naysayers, use the positive energy from the other people in this forum, and full steam ahead!  +5%

I'm a little sad and happy at the same time. But I think it is the right move.
Thank you toast! At some point I was about to loose my trust in you guys.
Instead you manged to make it even stronger. :)

Unfortunately I still have a large part  of my DNS at the exchange due to bter's withdrawal limits.
Have you received any response from them yet?

Thanks for everything!

I will not leave my stake at any exchange for 2 years, even at bter.com

and BTER.com is INDEED my favorite exchange... ! (followed closely by btc38)
Lack of arbitrage is the problem, isn't it. And this 'should' solves it.

Some of us will always remember its real name:

Bitshares Toast ;-)

See you at the DACmall...

 :)

Unfortunate name for a DAC... but so was the Bitshares X[perimental]...
