now get slack going, create a bot to post msg's to/from slack/irc/forum (filtered) and bam, you've got all bases covered. no matter which service your users prefer, they can keep up to date and see all post no matter where they login.

that's how Qora does it, and I like it

this would be more simple, you would log in on the forums and you would have a chatbox right there. Like 38PTSWarrior said, our chat is dead.

in that new tab you can search chat history and share files easily. no need to hang around waiting to see if someone answers your question, just come back at your leisure and see if it was answered. announcements can be posted for all to see, separate channels for separate topics can be formed and and and....

but please, no chat in the client.

Can we agree upon a chatbox which opens on the bitsharestalk.org? The chat we have is useless because there is never anyone inside.

maybe like one of those customer support things. mods & elected technical staff could login and take questions & answer them live

A trollbox in the actual client would be awesome too... Let's see if we can get a worker for it in the new system

this I actually disagree with. the client itself should be sacred. people would end up judging BitShares by the content in the trollbox and the two would linked in their minds. that would be all bad.

back when I was a btc-e user I would have never investigated their chat feature had it not been right there. but since it was I became an addict for a while. It would be helpful to have a bitsharestalk trollbox in real time while people are navigating these forums.

yes, something like this exactly! if newbies could get help there it would be awesome, people would see everyone is cooperative and how awesome this community is! Communities build projects. Someone being able to get help and seeing others get help quickly on the chat or people discuss, could decide whether they register on the forum or not

There is already a chat feature on the bitsharestalk.org website.  Is that what you mean or do you mean in the wallet?

I mean here. Well, if there is it seems hidden? You need to open a new page, that's not useful at all. I would like to see a pop up chat box kinda like the exchanges have. You could just close it or minimize it if you wanted to. But having always there on a corner would probably have more people joining in.

Would it be possible to integrate a chat box? Would be cool for people to hang around and for new people to ask any questions they have and potentially have them answered in real time if there are people online at the moment. It could make new members feel welcomed. What do you think?
