Found an article describing the situation in Greece on /r/bitcoin, and how Greeks should not be fooled into funding the economic hitmen (banks) that are decimating their country

https://truthandsatire.wordpress.com/2015/07/03/greece-the-one-biggest-lie-you-are-being-told-by-the-media/

Quote
Stage 1: The first and foremost reason that Greece got into trouble was the “Great Financial Crisis” of 2008 that was the brainchild of Wall Street and international bankers. If you remember, banks came up with an awesome idea of giving subprime mortgages to anyone who can fog a mirror. They then packaged up all these ticking financial bombs and sold them as “mortgage-backed securities” for a huge profit to various financial entities in countries around the world.
Quote
Stage 2 is when the financial time bombs exploded. Commercial and investment banks around the world started collapsing in a matter of weeks. Governments at local and regional level saw their investments and assets evaporate. Chaos everywhere!
Quote
Stage 3 is when the banks force the government to accept massive debts. For a biology metaphor, consider a virus or a bacteria. All of them have unique strategies to weaken the immune system of the host. One of the proven techniques used by the parasitic international bankers is to downgrade the bonds of a country. And that’s exactly what the bankers did, starting at the end of 2009. This immediately makes the interest rates (“yields”) on the bonds go up, making it more and more expensive for the country to borrow money or even just roll over the existing bonds.
Quote
Stage 4: Now, the rape and humiliation of a nation begin. For the debt that was forced upon them, Greece had to sell many of its profitable assets to oligarchs and international corporations. And privatizations are ruthless, involving everything and anything that is profitable. In Greece, privatization included water, electricity, post offices, airport services, national banks, telecommunication, port authorities (which is huge in a country that is a world leader in shipping) etc.

I've not checked any sources but it gives an alternative view to what is going on

"Be your own bank" can't be easily translated to Greek in my opinion, the greek translation sounds a bit weird.

Maybe something similar?(I don't like this image btw)

source: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3a6fy5/time_for_plan_b/

Translation is...

bitcoin

also a very popular phrase nowdays in Greece isabout hiding money under the mattress..So you could say something like:

Stop hiding your money under the mattress. Bitshares / Nanocard / Bitcoin
Bitshares / Nanocard / Bitcoin

or
Are you still hiding your money under the mattress? Bitshares / Nanocard / Bitcoin
Bitshares / Nanocard / Bitcoin

However having said all that you need to know that people in Greece in general are not very familiar with bitcoin. Many people think about bitcoin that is some ponzi scheme of the internet.. You may be surprised but something like bitshares and bitassets that can always be traded in stable fiat values might sound much more interesting to a Greek now than Bitcoin..
Greeks will definitely prefer and will get more comfortable with biteur, bitusd, bitgold than bitcoin now..
So I am not sure if by mentioning bitcoin , you may drive people away..

Be your own bank with bitshares or bitcoin / pay with them your bills or withdraw to cash in ATM with NanoCard

Pay your bills or withdraw to cash in ATM with #NanoCard supported by #bitshares or #Bitcoin - Your bank!

Pay your bills / withdraw cash #ATM with #NanoCard supported by #bitshares or #Bitcoin - Your bank in #crypto

From these I would definitely go with no1.
Be your own bank with bitshares or bitcoin / pay with them your bills / withdraw to cash in ATM with NanoCard

or shorter

I think, In terms of digital currency's.. BitGold is the future. A historic asset backing deposited fiat money, with the reversed full reserve banking system compared to the fractionalized banking system . Absolutely incredible.

With the current situation in Greece and the long queues in ATMs there is no better opportunity to advertise bitshares and bitassets. To this effect, thanks to "emailtooaj" who has created a very nice flyer I am starting the distribution of the flyer tonight.

The flyers' translation is as follows:

QUOTE
We do not need banks anymore to keep safe our money.
With bitshares we can be our own bank and save our money.
We can save with cryptography securely our cryptocoins such as biteur, bitusd, bitgold, bitsilver in a usd stick.
With bitshares and ccedk.com exchange we can withdraw unlimited funds from ATMs using a maestro travel card (nanocard)
Do you still hide your money under the mattress?

Visit the following pages:
bitshares.org
bitsharestalk.org
cryptofresh.com
ccedk.com
metaexchange.info
blocktrades.us

UNQUOTE

I think this will bring a lot of new people in here. Greek people need bitassets now more than ever.
My financial situation is currently awful. I kept my BTS no matter what market cap and I am still holding no matter what. So tips to support this in BTS or bitassets are always welcome  :)

P.S.: Again many thanks to emailtooaj for creating the flyer within a very short notice. It would be great if someone can uploaded here so people can see it since I have no idea how to do this
