Just read it through.
Great article!
It seems quite balanced and doesn't sound like a BitShares advert - even though it is

It addresses asset stability, exchange counterparty risk, multi-sig signing of the Nanocard crypto-debitcard and the fact that BitShares is a cooperative ecosystem where new players stand to benefit from the successes of other Network partners

Quite long, but if you can get a newbie to read it I think they will want to learn more

Nice one Ronny

Xapo the closest competitor offering a credit card for Bitcoin but now they are running into legal trouble.  Do you know if there is anyone else in the space that is doing what you are?

Big deal for bitshares if this answer is no.

The only one we are knowing about is Xapo, and although I dont know this personally I am told that the card they have is also only out as beta version, and they do not have denominations in more than one currency, is what I have been told. If anyone knows anything else, I would be happy to even learn more about our potential "competitors"

I thought it was a question regarding the new technology where bitcoin is taken directly from account when card is used, and not funded some days earlier or which ever way the prepaid card structure is working, or am I completely wrong on this, because there are plenty of prepaid cards out there.

@xeroc

From Coinomat website: Transfer within two business days. Low commission. Is this not a prepaid card, or do they show new technology somewhere? Not sure why it needed to be mentioned as example here in this thread, unless all prepaid cards is mentioned in the same time!

Minimum fee to transfer funds to USD debitcard: 15 USD for each transfer plus the 1% conversion fee

This kind of cost on Coinomat if based on bitusd or biteur with the cost added to convert to usd makes you consider just having ordinary card, as that would be cheaper just use plain ordinary debitcard. Having a card where you are able to keep your funds in crypto in whichever way you decide, is what it's all about, giving you choices instead of putting a lock on your funds once sent to your visa or mastercard via coinomat.

I think the NanoCard is unique in that perspective and show especially now with the increase of bitcoin that people already converting bitcoin to fiat and added on prepaid card some 10 days ago, would have loved to have a nanocard where you benefit from the increase in price, an you are suddenly having 40 USD more to spend per every bitcoin.

again a prepaid card

Unlike prepaid cards, #NanoCard supported by #bitcoin is changed to USD or EUR only when you spend it! http://www.coindesk.com/press-releases/nanocard-bitcoins-killer-app/ … #crypto #CCEDK

Thanks for the clarification. Seems not to be worth calling it a competitor then :D

Is Nanocard fully functional now?  When will the backend be finished?

We are very close now, but since I have said too many times coming soon, I can only say that we work hard on getting it up and running by next week.

More info on the new limits, reduced fees and whitelabel stucture for embossing of card will be end of this week.

A general analysis of the cards from Xapo, E-coin and Bit-x(NanoCard) is about to be processed where three bloggers, of which one is from Forbes will be doing their tests on all parametres and present a complete presentation end of November.

2 bloggers from Europe and one from UK, will be testing the cards on the base of whitelabel as well as anonymous, euro card used in UK, GBP card in UK, and reverse in mainland europe with a euro denominate card, so I guess each blogger will be testing 12 cards each.

This test is something we are initiating from our side to make it all clear once and for all which one is the best overall.

Cool news, i am looking forward to the new pricing structure of the nano card. The current one makes it very expensive to use the card in the wild. Would love to start using it
