Balance = 0 - not connected

What version of the wallet are you using?
are you fully synched? (type getinfo in the console)

Last year I transfered some BTS to my Bitshares wallet and did some transactions. Yesterday I tried to transfer the remaining balance namely 1,000 BTS however my balance now shows '0'. Further I noticed the 'not connected'  status.
 
Is there another way to access my funds as the client on my PC seems to be malfunctioning?
