Misplaced my backup

I saw your comment in the mumble session just now:

I wish to see a feature to transfer name

I just want to let you know that BitShares 2.0 will have the ability to transfer account names. There are many benefits that come with this feature, but for me the main one is enhanced security. Essentially you'll be able to change your keys regularly as a precaution or if you think you've been breached somehow...

Another feature to check out is Dynamic Account Permissions.

I had backup on a pendrive which I lost. If I change my wallet password will that make the backup inaccessible?

Or do I have to transfer the whole balance in a new wallet? I just registered my name and I will lose it if I have to move.
