With remittance, smart contracts, pegged assets, hiearchical multi-sig and recurring payments built into the blockchain, blockchain 2.0 is officially almost here.

As we start to price these things in and market starts to actually USE the features, we are only in the beginning storms with these significant rallies above 2k satoshi's.

the world will not be the same any more and we have been blessed as those at the cusp of the knowledge age.

What are you going to do with your Bitshares wealth once your coins hit upwards of $100?

Here's the question I get when I say things like that to "outsiders" ...

"yeah but what's $100 going to be worth then?"

I still don't have an answer other than, don't cash out!

I keep thinking how nice it would be not to have to show up to work ever again! Maybe I'll do that...

Give it 5 years. Then either we will be rich or bts will be defeated.

LOL

This is ludicrous.  BTS 2.0 market mechanism still has issues to be worked out.

I waiting for when the price reaches a point where paying off all my outstanding debt is less than half the value of my BTS. Everything after that is pure gravy.

I'm going to set aside enough bitUSD to pay for my kids education and hopefully secure their future as well - with my private keys! Thankfully I have 16 or so years to let BTS mature.

Edit: hopefully. Obviously wild speculation and dreams.

It's premature speculation. We all have dreams. But there's no telling what will happen. Maybe Walmart will fork BTS and all our efforts will be for a measly sharedrop. We'll all get coupons for 25 cents off laundry detergent.

What are you going to do with your Bitshares wealth once your coins hit upwards of $100?

1. Set 80% of it aside. I think it'll go higher.
2. all my debts paid off.
3. Capital gains tax if necessary/hire advisor to help me maybe
4. House (or rent on an apartment for a certain numbers of years)

After it goes up until I'm satisfied the moon has been attained...

5. Quit my jobs
6. Pursue education
7. Travel and find myself
8. Come up with a strategy to grow my wealth with the intention of eventually figuring out the best way to help people with it.

Bitshares market cap might not get as high as some of us around here would like it to.

If it does though, I'll still continue to work but I'll be financially independant. I'll never be working for a paycheck anymore. That would be GREAT!

If it doesn't, I believe it'll still grow enough that my gains can be used to do another investment in the next big thing. But that is in a far and distant future. Bitshares IS the next big thing.

Even if Bitshares reaches only 0.10-0.15$ in the next few years I'll still consider it to be one of the best investment I have done.

Developers (such as Cryptonomex, BitSaphire, etc.) can make proposals for features that they would want to work on, including cost and time frame. Shareholders then vote on the proposals.

Not to detract from the excitement ... but how does BTS reach heights of value like that when it is not in itself a currency? I mean.. BTS only utility is the bitshares network now and in 2.0. If it is attached to the cost of transactions, why would it reach $100? I can understand it maybe reaching $1 or maybe $5 with the shifting sands of fiat.. help me see why it would go beyond?

The collateral used in BitShares is BTS. This means that for every bitAsset, there is some amount of BTS locked away. The total value of BitShares is always proportional to the amount of bitAssets people hold. This is one of the main reasons why BTS value proposition is unlike anything else in cryptoworld. If ANY of the bitAssets go viral and get a supply in the billions, BitShares will rise proportionally along with it.

I get that.. but how does market capitalization equate to higher valuation per bts? The value of bitshares is really as a collateral holder yes.. and transactional utility.. so with that said.. I am still hovering around the $1 to maybe $5 mark at most for where it can go. We can have billions in capitalization value and still have the price of bts be around the $1.

Am I totally missing something?

I just keep thinking about how BTS exists and is used and for that reason I don't see how its value can go beyond that of transactions and dollars/fiat. counterparts.

Supply and demand. If an asset goes viral demand for bts will rise faster than supply. Simple as that.

In the long run the BTS price will be based on the profits it generates, in the same way you would value a company (EPS and growth rate).

However, instead of paying dividends, profits take the form of burned BTS, so its like a profitable company that spends all its money buying back shares.  It could become like Berkshire Hathaway in that respect.

If your stock appreciates like Berkshire Hathaway has, then no need for a dividend. Maybe one day, a single BTS will be worth $193,000 like Buffett's A-class stock.
