new BitShares Version 2.0 is going to launch in less than 20 days, so I'd recommend to read up on that instead of learning about the old system.

So I don't really like starting accounts and asking questions because search engines are fun and very informative.

However, I have just heard of this (past week) and really can't find anything that isn't a cluster of info and user info.  So I was wondering if it would be possible to get a link that would concisely explain what BTS is - a timeline would be awesome but perhaps unnecessary.

Pretty much, I am unsure how I understand that this is meant to be a tradeable asset, or enable it.  Is this a simulated NASDAQ?  What is BitUSD?  Is there a link that succinctly describes all of the terms I have found (granted, I can't really list all of the terms I don't know as there is a lot.)?

If this is an old/tired question than apologies.  I would just like to know.
