The Bitshares Bond Market could be the ultimate feature to bring liquidity.

So, isn't anyone else interested in this? What could possibly attract more people than receiving interest on their own money? Plus it's' a decentralized platform, it would be way safer than exchanges.

Has anyone from CNX talked to their business partners about the possibility of building this and its potential? What was their opinion? I think the sole reason why Poloniex has so much of the altcoin volume is simply because of this single feature. it allows people to receive interest while others take the risk.

This way, liquidity wouldn't be ''locked''. People who don't want to take the risk of trading could earn while providing liquidity and attracting more traders. it's a win-win situation. Imagine - assuming it's feasible, that you could choose to lend to shorts or longs. It could be nice to choose and people could pick the side offering higher interest rates. It would be a bidding war! Not to mention every other exchange joining OpenLedger could use this for marketing purposes as well, taking away Polo's market share to us.

It seems the bond market is something we all want before Christmas. I imagine people could get loans and buy gifts.

Would surpass my expectations if we had it by then. Really excited about this being implemented. Assuming we have one working fine by the beginning of the year, during bitcoins halving we could have a big increase in volume, will be interesting to see

I would expect the next month or 2 in fixing bugs and getting a better UI maybe and then bond market being one of the first worker proposals after. It doesn't mean the bond market couldn't be built while bugs are fixed but personally I would expect it by January or Feb. If it seems like a large time frame, well, there are always a few problems we are not expecting to appear so.. Still, I don't know how hard it would be to implement it, it might be a shorter or longer time, I'm expecting it to be on before February

Two methods which could bring in whales. The ability to borrow through the bond market, and crowd sales. Bitshares is capability of doing both.

This means in a crowd sale in theory an individual would be able to borrow Bitcoins to invest in the crowd sale. If after the crowd sale the price is higher then they can take their profit, pay off their debt, etc.

How far away are we from these sorts of usage patterns? How far way is the bond market from implementation? Do the bonds pay interest? If they pay interest wouldn't that be reason enough to hold lots of Bitshares?
