I really appreciate the feedback. I'm glad to see that people are interested in getting involved. The main roles that we need are as follows:

  • Representatives
  • Software Specialist
  • Market Analysts:

Representatives
Representatives communicate directly with liquidity providers to ensure a continued and growing relationship with these partners. Representatives must keep exchanges, gateways and bridges, abreast of any changes that might affect them, while also conveying to exchanges the opportunities afforded by further integration with Bitshares. At the end of the day,  we want all of these sources of liquidity to be more integrated into the internal markets as well as profit from doing so. Representatives must then publically report the current state of our relationship with a given liquidity provider, what it would take to generate further integration and how the EBM team plans to execute to achieve that goal.

Software Specialist
Software specialists are representatives who are familiar with interfacing with the Bitshares software as well as exchange APIs and can provide support to liquidity providers that are attempting to integrate with Bitshares. They onboard liquidity providers, from exchanges to market makers, and ensure that these partners are always in sync with current Bitshares network.

Market Analysts
Market analyst observe the volume and the trading occurring on each market. They report on the "health" of each market, both internally and externally. In this way, we can better identify which markets are lagging and how we can improve the efficiency of those markets. These reports and analysis will also be used in demonstrating to partners which markets will be most attractive for them to enter into.

I personally look to fill the role of a representative and market analyst (not sure I could troubleshoot the issues that an exchange might run into). If you are someone putting together a market maker bot, you might be able to fill the role of market analyst as well as software specialist. If interested please specify which role you would satisfy. Thanks.

I propose to include creating a friendly environment for trading bots as part of these efforts.

I'm currently in the process of writing python trading bots for poloniex and bitshares. Would appreciate help with other exchanges. Any one that has experience using python is welcome as I would like to do a more data driven analysis of these exchanges and report the findings using ipython notebook.

Nice initiative Clout!  +5%

I've been working on a bot for about a year now.  Its been running for that time.  Its written in Go Lang and is quite extensive.  Its interfacing with Poloniex, BTER, Yunbi, BitTrex, MetaExchange, Blocktrades, CCEDK, BTS2.0, and Bitcoin Indonesia.  It includes a simple market maker for any market, a simple Arbitrage between for all markets, and an advanced, what I call, Active Arbitrage feature.   With an extensive variable parameter list for on the fly changes/adjustments.

I've repurposed my website http://bitsharesbreakout.com/ to Aggregate all the various markets together.  So you can quickly find the market with the cheapest available BTS prices.  As well there is a bot page where you can see the trades as they happen.

I'm working on expanding this further to include other coins like Muse etc.

I'd be happy to contribute in whatever way I can.

I've just written of the roles of the team I am trying to form. Your site is very much in line with what I am trying to do. Would love to have you as a market analyst and/or software specialist for market makers.

I would like to have all people working on trading bots for bitshares and external exchanges to contribute to the EBM team as their technical knowledge will be extremely beneficial.

Additionally, a large part of this initiative that I did not thoroughly highlight is the management of market makers both on the internal as well as external exchanges. People that are working on trading bots should contribute to the market maker portion of the group. This subgroup will provide technical solutions for market makers with capital but without coding knowledge, as well as breaking down the profit incentives for being a market maker. It may also be a good idea to submit a proposal for capital from bitshares if we have come to consensus on the best market maker bot.

I may be interested in running market-maker bot(s)...depending on the details (mainly capital and bot monitoring/babysitting required).

Would you supply capital if someone supplied easy to use software for market making?

It might be just me but I will change the title from "•Technical Assistant" to something like... "Software Specialist"? maybe.

It has some  not so good ring to it... again maybe just me.
Lack of arbitrage is the problem, isn't it. And this 'should' solves it.

tonyk, I agree. I will change to Software Specialist. I am fully open to changing the title names. What's more important is defining the role and responsibilities of these team members.

I totally agree, just if someone has the knowledge to be  a "Software Specialist", the last thing I want to see is him loosing interest in the position because of the title.

Potentially yes.  I would need to know more details (how much, how to manage the funds/bot etc..).  I'm assuming this would make a small profit or break even at worst.

I like your effort and I am willing to contribute in any way I can.  I just helped Transwiser to integrate their gateway to BitShares wallet, can help with other gateway services as well.  I am in China, can be easier for Chinese service providers to reach me if they need any help.

I would like to add direct support for exchanges in the wallet. If this team can encourage exchanges to provide an API that returns a deposit MEMO given a username that doesn't require authentication. Then we can have the wallet save the exchange account, user id on exchange, and deposit memo and make deposits easy and transparent.

Standardizing this interface would make the user experience both easier and more secure/less error prone.  It also gives the exchanges some direct advertising within the wallet.

Don't forget Bitcoin Indonesia, they showed interest in BitShares in the past, also http://business.asiaone.com/news/indonesia-use-yuan-trade-china-2016

meaning they could help provide more bitCNY liquidity  :)

Forget about IOU-CNY.
Any Chinese exchange would worry about Legal risk .

Because the token can be transfered . It's not a crypto coin . Hence it doesn't share the same property as a crypto coin .

Same reason why BM was so stressed about Brownie.PTS's "non-value" property .
