I'm one of the lucky ones, since my import worked in the 1.0 version. But I wanted to try this anyway in 1.0.151101 with a different wallet, since I'm also running Windows 10. It crashed, just as others have reported. For the sake of those who have not had any success importing yet, I hope someone can address this for the next release. Thanks!

Problem is the "key import tool" button does nothing...I click on it and do not get any additional options..
Weird .. I would recommend to wait for an updated version .. Maybe its an already fixed bug

I tried this also with the newer version. Upon import, 1.0.151101 still crashes Windows 10.

New version crashed during import, you should use 1.0.0 version.
Not sure if this will work for Windows 10, but it's works for Windows 7.

win 10 muse
choose  json   then muse crash  why?

Install version 1.0.0, import json, re-install version 1.0.151101:

If you import a .json file .. you don't use RECOVER from backup .. but rather have to use the IMPORT KEYS tool!!!
There you will be asked to provide a password!

I have bitshares 0.9.3c that wont sync but I export my keys via console (Windows) and MUSE client says invalid format in wallet management console when trying to redeem. Why?

You should export keys using command wallet_export_keys
http://docs.bitshares.eu/migration/howto-exporting-wallet.html#using-the-console

That's what I did, it says invalid format when trying to import into MUSE client

Please post screenshot.
PS: Did you specify correct password?
