Very very nice work.  What is the timetable for this?  I would expect this announcement to provide a nice bump in market cap.

My understanding is the next blog post is to be posted next week. Please continue adding to this thread your ideas thru week's end.

Great work, Fox!  @Stan 's skill in announcement is much needed here.  Please do include it in our coming Newsletter.

Id rather focus on the speed, scalability and flexibility of bitshares.  Fox is talking to the bizdev of strategy...one hell of a strategy would be to show that, and then tall about the features (like smartcoins) as some examples of what can be done in the future.

This guy wants to know about our flexibility, speed and scalability more than ANYONE.

He wants information he can use to help him communicate what BitShares is in his upcoming blog post.

Read his previous blog posts to get a sense of how he has described projects like Factom/Emercoin & contribute ideas on what you think should be included on a similar blog post about BitShares

https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/blog/azure-blockchain-update-5/
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/blog/azure-baas-update-2/
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/blog/ethereum-blockchain-as-a-service-now-on-azure/

Saying speed, scalability and flexibility is great but how would you communicate that in a paragraph etc.

i honestly could devote a paragraph to each.

Speed: Many cryptocurrencies tout their use of the blockchain and its empowering technology, but they still are searching for solutions to transacting in a way that competes with legacy systems.  BitShares is based on graphene, which is the fastest blockchain architecture in the world.  This means purchasing on the bitshares and other graphene based blockchains will take LESS time than credit cards of today, whilse STILL maintaining all of the security blockchain lovers enjoy.  No more waiting hours on transactions to go through.  And more importantly in the information age, no more 10 second waits!

Scalability: (a much larger paragraph potentially could be written here.  Various businesses want their own blockchain and graphene enables them to scale as much or as little as necessary.

Flexibility:  open source, mit license enables companies to build NEW functionalities in a space where not all functionailties are yet even known. Bitshares and graphene enable businesses to fund small portions of development for features they wish implemented and profit from others use of those features.  If you are first to a feature that is a killer feature, you not only have the first movers advantage, but the power of the fastest, most scalable and flexible blockchain technology on earth.

done in on my phone in less than 8 minutes...and this is the first draft.  busniess strategists want to know we let THEM build what they need and our King FEATURE is goving them the knowledge they are building on the most scalable and fastest platform in existence.

or we can leave it to ethereum to get that one in spades too...cause i promise you from watching their "APPLE-ESQUE" Marketing they already plan it.

dont get bogged down in things that are still experimental.

I would emphasize how we have the most scalable chain out there (according to the info I have and not counting private chains) so far. Also that we plan on tackling financial markets and how our scalability will allow us to do that unlike other chains. Also that we are the biggest decentralized exchange so far (we are ridiculously small but others are even worse lol so that gives us an advantage) according to volume. Would like someone to confirm this but I think it's true according to cmc.

Other than that and maybe even more important, mention that devs can work for the blockchain and people vote for whatever they want to see develop. I think highlighting that is important because we lack people building stuff here like Ethereum and would be really nice to see more people interesting in developing stuff! Maybe mention our chain already has independent workers being paid, approved by the community, etc. to be used as an example. abit, xeroc, cass, svk, etc

Great feedback thus far. Keep it up!

I intend to submit a blurb in the format of his previous posts. Also included would be bullet points highlighting those I (we) feel are most important to note in his post, should he choose to modify it (likely).

It will be sort, so need to differentiate from previous BaaS offerings and create desire to explore further.

Community Action Request: Content for Azure BaaS blog post.

Background:
I've been in contact with Marley Gray, Director, BizDev & Strategy - Cloud and Enterprise, Microsoft on the on-boarding process for BitShares to Azure BaaS.  We are a pull request approval from being live.

Request:
First, please review Mr. Marley's previous blog posts to see how other blockchain offerings are being positioned [1].  Then, please provide ideas on what you feel should be included in his upcoming blog post highlighting BitShares.  I have a skeleton contained within the metadata.json and README.md files within the GitHub repository [2].  If you choose to tweet this information, please mention @ryanRfox

Gratitude:
Thanks to all those that have tested the scripts and provided feedback thus far; please offer more.

[1] https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/blog/author/marleyg/
[2] https://github.com/ryanRfox/azure-quickstart-templates/tree/review/bitshares-ubuntu-vm

Will you be sending him bullet points or a full article?

If BitShares gets it's own post, this is a good layout/format to start with:
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/blog/ethereum-blockchain-as-a-service-now-on-azure/

Things to focus on:
 - why do people want it on Azure and what will this help them accomplish/build?
 - brief history of accomplishments, general goals, future outlook
 - what makes Graphene unique; what does it offer that others don't?

We should reuse the nice write-ups here: https://bitshares.org/technology/

IMO for the microsoft audience, these are the best pages to pull from:
https://bitshares.org/technology/delegated-proof-of-stake-consensus/
https://bitshares.org/technology/dynamic-account-permissions/
https://bitshares.org/technology/industrial-performance-and-scalability/

Stan is uncharacteristically silent on this topic... I take it as sure sign it is happening and he has already written a great article. ?
Lack of arbitrage is the problem, isn't it. And this 'should' solves it.

Maybe something like...?

BITSHARES

Azure Blockchain as a Service welcomes BitShares to the ecosystem. BitShares is a Decentralized Financial Services Blockchain offering an industrial-grade asset exchange and specializing in Smartcoins. SmartCoins are price stable crypto-currencies innovated by BitShares that allow users to hold & trade balances denominated in commodities like gold, currencies like USD as well as popular stocks and indexes. They also offer additional tools such as User Issued Assets, Smart Contracts and recurring payment functionality. Their goal is to provide a financial safe haven for individuals & a cutting edge blockchain for business without the volatility.

Edit: All working great!

We could include other parameters like in:

./witness_node --rpc-endpoint "127.0.0.1:8090"  --genesis-json oct-02-testnet-genesis.json -d test_net_5 -s  "104.236.51.238:2001"  --witness-id '"1.6.5156"' --private-key '["GPH6JhL..your.signing.key..bc5mWyCvERV3coy","5K..your.secret..a"]'

So when starting the witness we can use different settings, to start a test net, witness signing mode, and / or automate failover re-launch.
