Ok i'm done doing it in 7 min.  Imagine how much more effect it would have it an entire group of people used the tools available to them to do the same.  I mean if they realllly really wanted to have this tech recognized and tinkered around with by some of the people making decisions to use Emercoin...

Emercoin must have had a group of determined people...and they dont have our tools...so do we have any excuses?

I think the optimism is great but what product or service are you selling them? Atm BTS just lets you send tokens back and forth.

REFERRER: Well if you join today and go through the whole process of buying BitShares we'll let you send these currently useless tokens back and forth for $0.2

DUDE: Wow! Golly, golly gosh! Only $0.2 to send useless tokens back and forth! I can't wait to tell my friends about BitShares!

Sending anyone BTS is pretty futile, this is why the referral programme isn't producing results and the daily transaction numbers are stagnant.

Once we have tightly pegged Smartcoins that will be huge. But at the moment this rudimentary PM is the first thing that resembles a product or service. https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,21104.0.html

"BTS lets you bet on the outcome of the NFL, which no other blockchain does yet!"  That at least is something.

Link me when you have done it for a  +5% or COPPERTICKET

As for optimism...we have the fastest, most scalable chain in existence.  There is a reason to get that into these people's hands. And 9 of them don't get it the 10th will.  Its call persistence and this attititude that sitting and doing nothing but complain about how bitshares needs to be better doesn't bring new eyes and talent.

Why not use the tools we have available to bring recognition of the real achievements BitShares has made?

I just imagine if I posted this on Emercoin's forum(thread)....would I have an army of people helping me?  Or would they say "we have little to offer"?  Something tells me an optimist got Azure using Emercoin...but who knows...maybe it was complaining on their forum that did it.

It's fast, yes but if there's no product or service on the chain yet, then you're just able to send shares back and forth fast.

It's scalable, yes, but there's no significant product or service on it for Azure's BAAS to value yet. Even when Stealth is completed it will just be shares that you can send back and forth privately.

Read my last posts, I'm actively spending my time thinking of ways & solution to help BitShares be successful. Most of them revolve around improving and focusing on products and services like Smartcoins and PM's. Improving these actual products and services is what I personally think will get us on BAAS the fastest.

(Once we have lower fees and more tightly pegged Smartcoins, I think the share/tip bot will be a very positive service as well.)

However I don't think sending these tokens around now will have much effect as demonstrated by 3 months of the referral programme. If you think that is a positive activity and beneficial to BitShares, even though I think it's futile, I know your heart is in the right place, so I think that's great and I wish you luck with it as you say maybe every 10th person will be able to see the great potential.

Not sure what else to say then. though i must say i disagree 110% with the philosophy of do nothing and wait.  By this logic emercoin shouldnt be used or marketed...but that logic is obviously wrong.

We cant afford to wait for perfection or fear failure.  I guess ill go it alone

P.S.  we do have a service...a decentralized exchange and a value xfer service that makes the other microsoft-supported tokens look far less valuable as foundational tech.

I love u donkey but damn people...sitting on our asses will give us what it always gives us-- a bad attitude and dull outlook for the future.

I still think BTS needs a compelling blockchain product and service to stand out, which I personally don't think it has yet, but you're right, BTS does have a lot of capabilities, perhaps converting some of the general features described on the homepage https://bitshares.org/ into examples of actual business use cases, similar to what Emercoin did, could help BTS communicate its product and service potential in a more compelling and understandable way.

I think it's less about spending large amounts of time and money but rather having at least one unique, clearly explainable product or service.

Judging from Emercoin and Factom, whose website layouts look surprisingly similar, a 1:30 explainer video helps too.

For example, I could see Peertracks, if it's all above board/legal, getting on BAAS easily as it's a very specific blockchain product and service that's fairly unique & easy to understand.

Use these and send them so they can see and USE a fairly unique and easy to understand trading interface---but tell them it is all on a blockchain with Separation of Power, 3 sec tx, Scalability and high decentralization of ownership. Let them try it!

i'm not following . BitShares is not capable of second-development on the public chain . So even if on Azure , it would be doing private chain development , right .
Not sure what you are talking about ..
But we could ever have Azure integrate BitShares, or Graphene as private chains, or both

If I don't see any movement on this in the coming month I promise you we will head this up and be the lead to ensure that we can be available on the Azure BaaS.

At present we are tied up with other things atm and this would require a great deal of attention money and time to execute.

I think it will be worth the effort though.

+5%
@BunkerChain Labs , this is definitely worth a worker proposal.
And it's nice that the success criterion is so clear in this case - there will be a payout if the worker manages to get BitShares on Azure.
