obtaining a banking license takes time .. i have yet to meet an existing bank that is willing to go that route with bitassets

I agree and expected that. Hopefully more options will open up as time goes on.
So for now, openledger offer a debit card that you can preload dont they?

The only fiat ramps are currently provided by open ledger and transwizer. If you are not in EU or China, you are shit of luck.

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if there has been any discussion regarding the ability to send fiat smartcoin value back to a fiat bank. I'm not sure how that would work, but im thinking about usability.

It would be great if at some point in the future we could take $5,000 of bitUSD and transfer it to someones account a fiat bank in payment for something.

Yes it would be great if the recipient had a bitshares address, but im just thinking about utility.
