It's easy to increase popularity. Watch the world news and find a cause. The only issue right now is popularity. Look at what that did to bitcoin.
Donate to the next world distaster that comes up to easily get onto worldwide television. We need the voices of bloggers and journalists.
Do some demographics and figure that guerilla marketing is the only viable option.
Request MMC miner writers to allow a % of your shares to be sent to a donation address to aid certain causes.

Donate your shares to power volunteers on a team to create Folding@home or BOINC shares.

Freetrade, any ideas?

We should find a nonprofit organization that collects old laptops and donates them to people, and have them install mmc wallets and miners on them first.

And car title and payday loan ads.

Still better than NSA tracking spyware...

I prefer to keep coins in-network as much as possible.  If we contact the charities, it may be fun to trade for services on their behalf instead of just giving them away for exchange.

E.g., horizontality may need translation / web design, and we could post a bounty for someone to help them.  Or, hire peace geeks to work with them.  Or, organize MMC members to order bulk food for sean's outpost, etc. instead of just donating...

Seems like it still helps out the charities.  Coins may still end up at exchange afterwards, but they go through at least one more community member first, right?

And, I'll always mention my favorite - BTC Oyate Project - we could try to get their attention.

Looking at itsik's list - Khan academy may also be good.  I think they promote personal finance education...new cryptos are gonna need a lot of that...

Hey Don,
Use this site to find Bitcoin-friendly charities
http://bitcoin100.org/charities/

I already contacted a lot of them (that's how I got to Spices) but I'm sure you can get to some more.
I'd really prefer that they'll have their own MMC address (not even MVTEcha - Just a normal wallet) to receive funds to. It would be better for the coin, obviously.
But you already know that :)
Good luck!

Morning everyone.

Since I got re-elected as Charity award representative (see thread), I want to collect community suggestions.

I will payout each selected Charity with 1 BTC (or if they accept it, 3000 MMC).

The current CHA balance is 0.9 BTC and around 500 MMC.

Cheers
