Try to export the json file from the 0.9.3 client,  most likely your account had many more private keys due to TITAN.

Hmm... "no unclaimed balances found." But I had about a bitcoin's worth of bitshares in there last time I looked 2-3 years ago. Plus, I should have received Notes and other assets through snapshots...

Can I do anything, or did I lose all of my bitshares by not checking in sooner?

Settings -> Wallet -> Lookup Balances
should show your balances in the genesis stake and allow you to claim into an account.
Make sure you have the account keys installed aswell!

I did try to import the private key and got the message "found key," but then nothing happened. What do I do now?

If the private key is from Bitshares 1.0 it won't do you much good I think, try checking this out: http://docs.bitshares.eu/bitshares/migration/howto-exporting-wallet.html

Did you try to import the key in the settings though?

Hi. I haven't been inside my bitshares wallet in a few years. I'd like to import my privkey into bitshares 2.0 (mac), but I'm having difficulty. (The private key starts with a U, if that helps.) Please advise.
