Change your keys

Then create a new local wallet with only those new keys using a BitShares UI that you trust

So as an example  if I feel my password and bin file have been compromised but I can still get in, what is the best option to secure the account again ?

Hi Thanks. See this post as well https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=26190.0 which is stopping me from creating a new wallet as well. Waiting on a reply on what to do.

Please try creating a completely new and fresh local wallet and import the private keys that you need.

Please be aware that changing the local wallet password does not protect you if your keys were compromised. In such a case you need to manually switch the keys of your account

I have tried to change my password to my local account but even after backing up file it does not accept the new password. Can only access account using old bin file and old password.
