Also for fellow board users , here's what made me fall for it

1. The opportunity to transact faster with no waste / wait times set my exchanges
2. More money was offered
3. I thought i was dealing with an escrow and a normal member - My fault in not checking the account
4. Greed I guess - has to be greed
5. Could be fate :)

Thanks and love to anyone who has expressed their grief and concern in the recent past.
I had a few board admin's reach out to me via e-mail.
Your concern and empathy has touched me. Hope to give back to the forum as time passes by.

If anyone feels kind enough to part away with a few pts to help me get back on track - let me know :). Not begging - but oh well , I don't mind crowdfunding my way back to  recovery
If there's any business opportunities I can work together with you on - Let me know.

What I can bring to the table

>PR and massive business relations in an upcoming market that is completely untapped
>Massive server power

I am looking to recover atleast 10k back (although at current market prices the 1k PTS is worth 18,000 USD) - and get back in the game.
Everyone has their rise and fall - I fell a bit too hard I guess.

I'm sorry mark, I can feel your pain. I was so close to send 600 pts to the same guys.

@everyone: don't check the nick but also the forum status! moderator is no newbie! (that one luckily saved me!)

I'd be happy to Escrow for anyone if needed but I guess it's better if an admin should appoint some 'official' Escrow people who are trustworthy.  Bo Shen ran a skype group which was a good place to buy and sell but not sure if it's still up and running.

I feel really bad for you. Sorry about that.

I hate to rub salt in your wounds, but it's important that others don't make the same mistakes.  First thing is 1K PTS isn't a big enough trade that you couldn't just do it on Cryptsy.  Looking at the market right now you could have picked off about 800 just hitting offers down to .016.  If you put just a little effort in to the trade you wouldn't even cause the market to hiccup.  The other thing is I don't care how trustworthy the username is I always trade in increments.

Sorry for your terrible situation.

Can someone explain to me what the benefit for the buyer and the simultaneous benefit for the seller is in making a trade like this when exchanges exist? It can't be simply to save a marginal amount on the transaction fee can it?

I think trading via the forum should have stopped once we had exchanges that safely match buyer and seller.

I had similar experience listed in these threads:

I've exchanged 3 PMs with the offender(s).
Pattern seems identical. Could be the same person(s).

But lets get the exchange running first!

There are already pts/btc exchanges, what else do we need is what he's asking

Sorry about the loss. I don't understand how someone could do something inhuman as that and run away when he spots the slightest opportunity in benefiting themselves. I hope that crypto teaches people to be human again and create an environment where people can trust one another again.

As Dan said, our exchange will solve such problems. So I guess it's best to wait for now. Multi-sig wallets are also a very interesting way to escrow such trades. Would be great for a LocalBitcoins addition. But lets get the exchange running first!

I have pm'ed you bytemaster- please take a look

I typically handle 20-50 BTC trades and back in the day lighthouse used to help with that
lately we have noone credible willing to do that and thats what resulted in my bad experience.

Yep, lighthouse is still a big fan and large owner of PTS but has his plate full of other things...

Hmm... there were some trades for non-crypto and maybe it would be good for Very Large trades

Sorry to hear about your loss!   I think we should shut down trading buy/sell requests on this forum because we have exchanges that can facilitate that.

Is there any value for on forum transactions?

It is hard for admin/mod to find out a fake ID that never post. The trading board is not accessible for newbie accounts. And in PM, it should be easy to see the title and post number to find out fake ID.

I am sorry for your lost. Please send me an email admin@bitsharestalk.org and see what I can help you.

Well I hope you can get some PTS back but I wouldn't count on it, let alone a court trial. Better aim your time and resources on getting new coins or like you said find some buyers for your server methods.

Everyone makes mistakes :/
I lost approximately 20 BTC in a single scam
I have a method to get 10k worth server credits. If i could get a few buyers for it I'd be sorted.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss in PTS. But seriously, how could you ever be so naive? Especially when it's your business at stake here. Also a fake scamming Favdesu has been reported before as I remember right.

Chat logs with other users
Can i have chat logs of all 4 of his accounts?
That would be a good place to start with

Mailinator email... looks like a newb already

You should ping Amazon, I don't think I have access to chat logs

What else would be useful? I don't have that much information.
Their hostnames are  "luxemburg.gtor.org" and "ddos-optimized.com". Both using mailinator emails.

Is there any more information I can have?
I work with some of the darkest of blackhatters and have access to a few investigative agencies - by all means I will trace them down and teach a lesson.

I wish someone covered me :/

That really sucks =[

There was another thread like this earlier, using a different fake favdesu:
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=1994.0

I banned both, I think these are the IPs:

37.221.171.236  pts_trader
81.89.96.89        favdesu`   (NOT favdesu proper)

User PTS trader had pM'ed me in regards to purchase of 1000 PTS from me
I had readily agreed for a rate the two of us were fine with
He had then went on to arrange escrow for the transaction
I readily waited - until the second user linked in the beginning of this thread PM'ed me.
It looked like  a fake account of Favdesu
Sadly I readily thought it is the real favdesu and sent the cash
The transaction id is c1028f6ea63729ff972102af23616936e60b191f2beec8352b4584f7bc947a30-000

I have lost 12,000 dollars in the deal and its more than I can afford to lose.
it was money my business urgently needed and am beyond depressed.
Words won't express how I feel right now.

I feel if admin and board members tried a bit more- maybe this scam would've been avoided, but I blame my own lack of patience and background checks for the loss.

I am looking for every detail I can get on these 2 accounts.
If possible, I request for ip's, other details to be made available to me.
I offer 500 USD to any user who can help me trace down this scumbag.
I will take this dude to court and have him filed for fraud
