So I was holding PTS at the time of the snapshot ...am I entitled to anything? I never heard anything about it

Yes, you can import your PTS wallet into the BTSX wallet: bitshares-x.info

Thank you. I had tried using this feature (which was a little buried I must say) But I couldn't get the filepath correct

After several attempts and trying the following:

file:///Users/UserName/Desktop/wallet.dat
~/Desktop/wallet.dat
...
and finally
...
/Users/UserName/Desktop/wallet.dat

This last filepath was the golden ticket. Thanks for reassuring me I was trying to do this correctly! All is well in the land of BTSX

Do not use this post as information for making any important decisions. The only agreements I ever make are informal and non-binding. Take the same precautions as when dealing with a compromised account, scammer, sockpuppet, etc.

what about people like me who had their PTS in cryptsy?
Is it just lost? Who claims the Bitshares X?

You have to ask Cryptsy whether they give the BTS they receive to you.

Cryptsy has made it clear they won't participate in the conversion.

Cryptsy subtitle: 'Thanks for the free BTSXTs'

I can't accept that.
Enrique said he was successful twittering Big Vern.
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=3305.msg42438#msg42438
I was told by cryptsy today:
"We will not be converting any of our PTS to Bitshares for ourselves or customers at this time. If we decide to in the future the bitshares will go to the customers. But we have no plans for this"

my question:
Will I see in the bitshares XT - blockchain, if a certain PTS public adress was utilized for bitshares XT

everyone dumped their PTS  ::) hmmm i knew that was going to happen just sat around and let it my money dissapear... PTS will still give you stake in future innovations though yes?
Yup, you've secured your stake in future innovations.  And no worries, your money hasn't disappeared.. instead, the value of your PTS has simply shifted into BTS.  8)
Think of it as a stock split.  ;D

This drop was expected, time to double down, future DAC success will resurrect PTS.

No worries.

a watched pot never boils.. :-X

the network just passed midnight a few mins ago, even though it is 2 am. This is because bitcoin timestamps just have to be greater than the median of the past eleven blocks - so it takes a couple of hours before you know what the last block of a day is. I wouldn't expect and announcement for some time. No reason to run anything since there isn't even software yet.

Sorry if I'm asking silly question but I'd like to further clarification on the Feb 28th snapshot :

1) At what time exactly will the snapshot be taken on Feb 28th (please specify GMT or EST)?
2) Why is it recommended that PTS movement, in regards to your wallet, be halted until March 2nd?
3) Are the extra 2 days (Feb 28th - Mar 2nd) going to be used for final block confirmations from all
those transfers that will occur *right* before the Feb 28th snapshot?

Just a smaller miner here that wants to maximize his holdings when the  BitShares XT transfer happens!

Thanks in advance for the clarification and finite details  :D
The snapshot will include the last block on the 28th GMT time.
Not sure about the other two

subtlety: last block means last block with network timestamp of February 28. Network timestamps have some slop in them:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Block_timestamp
block timestamps are not necessarily chronological, and can be as much as 2 hours off of the network consensus time.
so we won't really know what the last block with a February 28 time stamp is until sometime a couple of hours into March 1. I think the March 2 dates is to allow all time stamps and blocks to settle.

I've always assumed the extra 2 days are just a conservative safety buffer.

Could we get this up on Coindesk?

Thanks CLains - looking into that.  In the meantime, you can review at:
http://letstalkbitcoin.com/caution-watch-for-falling-pts/

On skimming through,

1. On the top it says by Dr. Charles W. Evans & Daniel Larimer,
On the bottom it says By Stan Larimer
2. There are several spacing errors on the page after periods.
3. "Watch for falling PTS" might over emphasize the point and cause a harder crash? The main headline should be positive, PTS holders are getting something, the fall is a side-effect.

So thanks to you Dan and the whole I3 team behind the scenes, especially for the unseen passion and commitement you bring to the table! I got your back like the whole community does  :)

I3 are awesome! That being said, I think ultimately one has to accept that the whole structure of starting a business conspires and holds you hostage to staring into the abyss while chewing glass. There's constantly a threat of failure and there are zillions of nagging little details that will keep cropping up.. One has to keep cool and marathon that shit out with zenceptional grit, and that's what I believe I3 are capable of!

Great Video. Thanks Daniel!

I wanna say one thing here: It seems to me that I often criticize things here and even more often ask stupid questions (especially about the technical parts). But in the end I am a big believer. I think the reason that there is a lot of critical questions and comments is that people want to be as sure as possible about the bets they (already) made on the succes of I3 software. No one has to say / ask something except for social / community / fun reasons if all is fine and in line with his/her I3 investments. I criticize to provoke counter arguments only when I am already highly interested/invested...

So thanks to you Dan and the whole I3 team behind the scenes, especially for the unseen passion and commitement you bring to the table! I got your back like the whole community does  :)
